Feeling just ok today. I worked out and I think I’m starting to get back into the swing of it. Going to see my grandma for her birthday later I got her some roses.

Confidence in the eyes of some can read as arrogance, because if it's strong enough it can be offensive to those who lack it. Like an example could be a black person with a lot of self-confidence, who in the eyes of a white person with less, may sometimes be deemed arrogant regardless of whether they're a d*** or not.

If you have a strong belief in yourself and your ideas, it might rub some people the wrong way, and if you take steps to manifest those ideas, then the ensuing actions may piss people off. Arrogance is so subjective that fretting over the differences between that and confidence feels kind of useless to me.

Arrogance and confidence are as closely related as humility and meekness, and I'd rather be viewed as those first two than the last ones.

Kinda bummed out tho cuz I think I’m overdoing it again with this one girl….like I haven’t even met her yet and I’m tryna be all romantic and s***

yeah i didnt realize how close they can be until i looked up their definitons. and bringing race dynamics def adds more layers

a clear example for me is lets say a party or social gathering

arrogant guy: "ME ME ME!" and one ups everyones story. pats himself on the back.

confident guy: waits his turn to talk, but will check you if you cut him off. compliments people around him making them like him even more. he plays the long game. and knows how to laugh at himself

i feel like in a toxic corporate environment arrogant will get u far quicker tho 💀

my sister talks about her colleagues and higher ups and theyre all like that.
