standing here looking at my phone not talking to anyone on some sigma s*** (i need a hug)
Dam I saw this post about "men and pretty privilege" if it exists
And nearly all comments were like yup
I'll tell u myself, an average/ugly dude yeah THEY think so, just like women
But it's not the case
Actually yeah we obv might get a specific treatment
But the opposite happens A LOT more
Since alot of people think "hey this person is pretty, bet they have a good life, lemme show em they ain't worth s*** to me"
Like people will bash u
Stare u down
Bully u
For no reason other than being pretty
Add a talent or intelligence in the mix
And people will hate ur guts 😂
Like it's my fault my parents made me who I am
I should feel bad or feel ashamed for being me?
Tbh I never told an ugly f*** to gtfo because they ugly
The reverse has happened tho
Coworker tryna tell me it’s normal to see a 30+ year old man with a girl as young as 14 in Hungary, Ukraine, and Russia.
Is it wrong if said;
My first 18/19 yrs on earth, during school, really don't count to me?
It felt like the real me was just adapting to da rules
I could never really be me
That era doesn't even seem real to me
I honestly feel like I always really came alive around my 25 yrs old
Like at home, yes I could be myself
But other than that, nah
It was like;
"How to manoeuvre the world as a black creative kid in a racist af environment"
Guy wrote on the back window of his Tesla:
Helene took my job
Military took my home
Venmo me @Blahblahblah
sell the Tesla

I feel this heavy
Not so much the pure racism part altho that is real even in america, but in general feeling like the generic personality types offered to black males didnt fit me, and my ignorance to who i truly was held me back a ton
I was like half aware of myself, i explored a lot of d**** and music, which are important parts of my life, but socially i waa a weirdo cus i wasnt comfortable with who i was

facts man racism takes such tole on us, specially the formative years
like ya said u really have to fit what theyoffer you, how to be an "acceptable" black person
like ya said later, ur like in a sorta conflict with who u are, cause at home luckily i could be myself
but its like u got in public and this would really be just like 50% of who u are, depending with who u are
and even when i was ma real self, id quickly get shut down for being a"weird black dude"
like i feel after high school/univ we have more freedom to ask ourself, who we really are and actually explore it, plus ya just meet people that be on the same wave and theyll never tell ya "ur weird"
tbh being yourself, i notice how intimidating this is for folks when u dont fit the mold of what they are used to
even for other black folks following the "white rules"
but yeah wearing a mask is just too energy draining and i dont want another depression cause of it

Yea fam this is facts, i was into indie rock in high school, couldnt even share my ipod without getting roasted

Bruh I had the same
Or not wearing what other "cool black kids" wore, ironic how those roles have switched
Like any thing ur even into, like "reading" people would roast me for or articulating fluent and not with a "black accent"
Stupid s*** but I did sting
Ngl I think kids were just sorta jealous, that we were strange without trying
And if u stand out in school, kids rather ridicule u cause they don't got what u got or do it how u do it
Later on you'll c most kids actually did f*** with it they just had to mature to rationalize it better

yea kids is a******s especially when they feel superior or like they in a different social bracket, that mix of racism and ignorance is so dangerous
like u said they usually not even basing the hate on anything real, so the whole time we frustrated at how people treat us, they not rly sweating it at all. wish i knew that when i was younger
