man every. single. night.
I’ve based my life around pool cleaning the past few years, and recently I started an LLC to form my own personal company so I can do it on my own.
Im currently working for this one guy who needed help. And the thing about this job imo is that it seems like absolutely no one actually knows how to do this job.
Beginning to think I’m falling out of love with this work. I can see myself really making something out of this pool company but the thing is, I’m starting to hate this s***. It’s the pools, the customers, the employees, the weather, there’s never a break.
It’s like 100° everyday. It’ll storm like at least once a day and when it does storm whatever gets hit usually the pool looks rough the next visit. So everyday it’s like I gotta come back to these s*** pools and play clean up.
The pools themselves can be just highly impractical. The weird ways they get built, the vegetation that people so desperately feel the need to add around the pool. Sometimes there will be vines or stuff hanging into these pools.
They get so rough I find it hard to believe that these folks ever put in the time to go in the pool. I mean by the next day it could be back to dirty.
Equipment constantly breaks. Pumps, baskets, poles, vacuumed. I’ve gone through 3 poles in the past week. It’s insane.
Personally my boss this past month hasn’t done a thing to move pools around to make these routes more efficient. I’m practically zig zagging to pools which is not saving money.
Then there’s the driving. Florida is one of the worst states to drive in. I’m manning a 2015 Tacoma with like a thousand pounds of materials in the bed of the truck. I gotta go over speed bumps slow and s***, people constantly swerving around me and riding my ass, and then there’s just the regular buffoonery that goes on traffic wise anyways.
All in all, I just don’t know where I want to go from this point. I just put in a 2 week notice and idk if I can keep cleaning pools.
Feeling really lost in life and I also am thinking maybe I need to move to a new place. I’ve lived in this specific part of Florida my entire life.
Where would be the best place to move to?
move somewhere where you know people but just know you’ll find something to complain about whatever situation you’re in. 5 years ago me would ecstatic about what today me is doing but i can talk all day about what irks me about this place there’s no perfect situation
man every. single. night.
