Haven’t read the book only seen the movie. From what I understand the book itself is a critique on 80’s yippees culture so makes total sense it would have some relevance today. I was just thinking the same but about Taxi Driver

Personally have checked out both the movie and book. The book is actually more fascinating than the movie as it goes into greater detail. That's a great comparison. The shallow 80's yuppie ideals, narcissism, morals that have somewhat been rebirthed in the last few years (probably as a result of the proliferation of social media).

Haven't seen taxi driver but heard that it's often credited as one of the best films ever made. Would you recommend a watch?
