One problem I have with rap is sometimes it’s a bit too blunt and frontal with it’s messages. Maybe that just comes with the territory of being the most verbal and wordy genre of music that praises that sort of attitude, but I still prefer the more subtle, elusive messages that you can listen to multiple times and pick apart… although that’s probably really hard to do for a genre as, again, so much more lyric-heavy than any other.
