yea programming is a great field. id focus on python and javascript to start. but if u rly bout this s*** u start with c++, learn the ins an outs of how programming should be done (not easy but its probably worth learning)

takign c++ rn i FUICKING HATE IT

it is interesting tho but really annoying and my prof sucks

c++ is hard for beginners so i dont think everyone should start with that, but once u get into the real complex programming its good to think about s*** like methods/functions, variable states (global, local, etc.) and classes

c++ will ensure u understand all that stuff very well

also helps to have a good book. i never listen in lectures unless its about something i struggled with in the HW

pointers are just variables that store locations in memory

dereferencing jus means unmasking the pointer so that you can retrieve whatever value is stored in the memory location

referencing means u are storing that memory location into another variable, so u can pass around the memory location with ease

i honestly did everything in undergrad at a university so idk much about other methods

i honestly wish i could help more but i rly dont know what to say lol. id recommend going to a university for mathematics or computer science, taking internships and getting that stuff on ur resume
