When I posted that I think I stumbled into one of many daily arguments between mcu, snyder, and “cinema” fans, using the same sets of cherrypicked frames, bad faith arguments, with either snobby or willfully ignorant energy sprinkled on top. And i was like, this aint even fun or stimulating. At least stan twitter can be satirical and funny. I felt like on that side of the bird app I almost never get to see someone just geek out about something they like, without putting another group down. Now theres plenty of disrespect on stan twitter for sure, but at least it comes from a place of passion for something. And everyone feels equally degenerate and proud lmao. But somehow even though film twitter rarely gets down and dirty like that, it feels so much more hostile and soulless. Like the art is just a vehicle for their own superiority.

Ultimately I know there are many exceptions and nuances but I was just pissed cause I was in a good mood looking for memes and cool photos but kept getting ambushed by those threads with the same style of tweets from the same kind of user. Felt like my soul was being drained with each one. I’m heavy in the like what you like/try a little of any and everything camp, and I always feel like theres a lot less room for that on the film side of fandom.

The art is just a vechile for their superiority is a great sentence. Worst part is they didn’t even make the art lol. I feel like that pompous side of film Twitter is adjacent to the mean spirited art/journo/leftist side.
