find your right match and you won't even have to think about this. it will happen naturally.

getting married next weekend
The percentage was just to “ground” the question, which is asking about mostly intangible attributes.
I personally believe the guy has a bulk of the work in maintaining the relationship. I’m hesitant to say someone has to “lose” but women have to sacrifice a bit more upfront (attention, fertility, other options) so the guy has to be worth it, imo. So, in that case, the guy has to be the emotional leader.
Almost like raising a kid (not comparing women to children). And sometimes you have to almost engineer difficult situations at times for their own good.
I agree with your post, but most of that is the obvious stuff that we do to keep the ship afloat. You ever try stress testing your relationship on purpose?
I feel you but I think the framing is a little frustrating not because of you ofc but more because of typical online relationship discourse where people focus way too much on things that aren’t practical in reality. I get where you are coming from for sure.
As far as your question goes I mean not intentionally but inevitably being with someone you will be tested. I personally think you need to evaluate what you want in a partner and during those periods determine whether the person you are with is meeting those expectations and/or have the room to grow. At the same time you need to be asking yourself those questions because it is a two way street. I just got married to someone I’ve been with for 8 years now and we truly do work together so well. We balance each other in our respective weak areas and are both reliable to one another
you know what I do think men probably are responsible for in MOST hetero relationships? it's lowkey the romance. like keeping that part up. flowers, dates, flirting, sensuality... I think a lot of that upkeep is on the man to do. Now, don't get me wrong, women can be romantic too but overall I think men sort of have to keep that momentum up.

This applies if you're 35 and dating 22 year olds. i promise you grown women do not need you to hold their hand and direct them in life. You shouldn't even really find that type of s*** attractive.
There is way too much bullshit on the internet about how a man "has to lead". Have this conversation IRL with peers that aren't chronically online and they'll look at you like a weirdo.
People with these mindsets are trapped in a patriarchal hell of their own creation.
And someone explain what 'work' is needed to maintaining the infrastructure of a fwb
the whole point of casual dating/hooking up is literally so you do NOT have to do that.
imo if you're dealing with someone in a casual manner the only obligation you have is to be honest (enough) and sexually responsible with any other partners you may also be seeing

Thank you for actually engaging the question.
Knew you was a real one.
We are limited only by language & I’m working on getting better at communicating through this imperfect medium of text.
And of course, congrats to you and your lady…
My own two cents:
It’s 80%-90% in maintaining the infrastructure of the union.
Not “fair” but is what it is.
Dudes have their work cut out for them…
Expand on this
why would you want to be with someone who is only 10-20% invested in maintaining the relationship?
And in your mind, what is the foundation that the infrastructure of the relationship exist on?
its decided between the man and his partner
I feel you’d have a lot to share but no pressure…

Theres no one archetype, it depends on the dynamic of your relationship
and ppl going into these relationships with these preconceived notions and very black and white beliefs about what a relationship should look like is why they end up failing
Relationships are built one day at a time, and evolve and change as you evolve and change, and roles and responsibilities shift depending on specific needs at that specific time
