On ktt making good music that people actually enjoy= not being inspired/playing it safe

I wish this site just treated drake like a damn pop star. He raps fine, but he’s done more for popular music as a whole than just hip hop.
every time a thread like this gets made the hip hop purists get all heated, then the drake stans get defensive and attack kanye, kanye stans get heated, and then op gets 30 undeserved pages immediately.

He’s gotten like 30 hip hop artist their highest charting songs ever and made sure a number of producers could feed their families for years — how has he not done more for hip hop? Lol

He hasn't made a 80's rock infused hiphop album, that relates the story of Galileo to the current day black struggle.

I’m not saying he’s done nothing for hip hop. But he’s more of a pop star than a rapper, period. And when you treat him like a rap hero, you’re putting him up against a lot of dudes who aren’t pop stars that don’t have pop fans.
I guess we could both be right, but it’s an inherent flaw in how we talk about drake like he’s just a hip hop icon.

there’s way more than just 3 too, but those are definitely the most iconic.
What will drake look like when there’s no more new acts to bite and wide waves from is the real question
All a domino effect
