Drake won’t have a successor he even said he’s not looking for one in that interview, but he has influenced a lot of rappers and R&B singers male and female as well as helped shine his bright light on to other artists with significantly smaller audiences.

drake stannery would probably be 1000x worse if his career dipped after that. Cuz NWTS and TC are mid projects but they’ll keep holding onto them like they’re classics and that drake is a GOAT when he’s just not even good lol
Last 5 years have kinda made it easier to hate on Drake but I really just see these last 5 years as the clear flaws he had in his music IYRTITL and before, just without any redeeming values now

We’re in a new era and we should start to see those new stars settled in about a year, so whoever will dominate will be who can fit those new standards for what a mainstream rapper ‘should’ be, just as Drake fit those standards in a post-Grad/Carter III world when he first came in
It’s hard to see right now cause it hasn’t really started so we don’t have the benefit of hindsight
also the industry is wayyy more decentralized than it was back then
