I can agree on the production of the album being boring for sure I still think it's a decent album though

Yeah i get MBDTF falling out of favor.

I think musically it has really no ties to anything were doing now and was by itself in its time too (WTT is its only mainstream musical contemporary)

And so much of my experience with MBDTF is connected to the story surrounding Kanye at that time from the Bush thing, his mom dying and finally the VMAs incident. I just think in 2020 so much of that is in the past and two of the biggest moments connected to that album (both the Taylor incident and his comback performance of runaway) are tied to MTV/Award show performances which are just not cultural landmarks anymore at all. I think a lot of the context will be lost to time and idk if the album will make it through that with the reputation it deserves.

In the future people will stop pretending to love DAMN and TPAB and realize that Kenny only has one good album

It honestly depends who you’re around and your internet silos. Personally, I’ve seen TPAB get trashed in recent years. People said that it was drawn out and musically cluttered. I’m hearing revisionist history about Justin Timberlake’s older music as well. These things come in waves though. There’s no telling the consensus in the next decade. Casual listeners are fickle like that.

I hate to say this but the Beach House discography it feels like a “you had to be there to remember” kinda moment.

They remind me of Death Cab For Cutie, Interpol, and Deerhunter in the sense that they got a s*** ton of press and coverage and now they’re just moments and glimpses of the 2000s
