Probably odd future. It was literally just a group of guys

  • Cudi was the first artist that I watched start with practically nothing.
I found him on MySpace when he wasn’t even signed and he just had Dat New New, Pillow Talk and Day n Nite on his page. He wasn’t even signed or met Kanye yet.
That was when I was like I can do this s*** too. I got close to something but never got through any doors

I used to be on rap battle message boards and the dudes who were rapping in the audio section made me believe I can actually hang cause everybody wasn't that nice. I lost my first battle though. Got destroyed, lol.

    Nas

Friends and rappers I met in Atlanta over the years thought I was gonna be an Atlanta version of Nas.

Got signed to a major in 2013 and was shelved. Long story.

My manager was Jason Geter for a brief while before I ended up with a different manager who was shady. Made some bad decisions and procrastinated.

I came up rapping with Nick Grant and JR Get Money. The artist that sang the hook on Lupe Fiasco’s The Show Goes On. Me and Nick studied everything about Nas, Az, Andre 3000, Jay, etc

Every now and then I have regrets about the bad choices I made when I see artists like Kendrick, Cole, Drake, etc but I sleep better at night now.

    Just wasn’t meant to be

When you got shelved, did you try to
move around independent of them? Is there even anything that artists can do at that point? Damn… at least you gave it your all.

Can you link some of your tracks?

Took my music off platforms when I was done but my lawyer at the time negotiated my release. Took forever then I owed them repayment for some of my advance and had to give up rights to the music recorded under them…
