    You reckon MJ would struggle?

    Yep.

  • We’re in an era where nobody is going to sit with an album because they have access to every album ever at a click of a screen

Impossible for artists to come up big

  • mov

    Prince definitely

prince would think tiny desk is too corporate or something but man a prince tiny desk would be cool

  • mov

    Prince definitely

    Why?

  • Gabagool Mentality

If streaming was around in the mid 80’s, MJ would have like 250 million monthly listeners or some whacky s*** like that

Europe and Asia didn't f*** with him like that in 1983

  • notbrock

    All of them

  • a lot of great artists we loved wouldnt have fallen off and wouldve done way better in a lane instead of being made to be versatile commercialized shells of themselves

a lot of big artists wouldve def suffered esp those with like shotty pasts, which is most of the succesful ones lol

  • this is not an alt

Definitely those rockbands that were doing concept albums and s***. Pink Floyd would’ve been an ‘underground’ thing, cus nobody this day and age is streaming 15 min tracks

No phones back then so you had the attention span for it

  • Mfs talking like it's the same mental capacity and thoughts back then.

People now a days are stupid. Attention spans in the gutter. Music has to "bump in the whip" and not "scare the hoes" for it to be good to most of y'all.

Back then it was different. Singles about ordinary days in life would become huge hits. Concept songs/albums would be massive. People loved story telling and originality. Copying styles was seen as treasonous, especially in rap.

S*** would be even bigger back then, if fans had the luxury or being able to stream.
