trying to appeal to people who dont like you is pointless
Not even trying to appeal, but like making something undeniable. 5AM in Toronto shut a lot of the "Drake soft lol" crowd up
Just rap. No flex bars just rap about what’s going on in life
Also it had be like 9-13 tracks long
Too unsolicited advice for artist that have accomplished things that the majority of artist can’t achieve a Quarter of ….. think about it . Just as you don’t like him , don’t offer no advice because what’s on your resume , who the f*** are you lol ? That goes for all those artist , Kendrick , J Cole , Nas and Hov. They know what they’re doing , they make music for their “ demographic” especially drake . It’s been quite obvious he stopped caring after NWTS , his albums became more of a playlist with the different genres catering to all the unique demographics he has as supporters. You’re not getting an all rap album , he has explained why not a million times . During the beef , he displayed the most witty lines , bars and entendres but no one cared because ovohoe and a minor with the hook was so damn catchy. Euphoria was a brilliant record as well , even the Taylor made freestyle , we all watched in real time how initially everyone was amazed by the record and once Kendrick gave his rebuttal on the song . Everyone did a 180 about their opinions on the song C which is okay because it takes time to form or change an opinion. But this one wasn’t that, it was very performative. He displayed master rapping and no one cared. So why should he stop what’s been working for him
, to appeal to a base that’s been hating on him
Since 2009 lmao it doesn’t make $en$e
Imagine a 10 track laser focused drake album with no filler and a real theme and concept
He'd go crazy but he's clearly a numbers man and wouldn't risk such a thing no matter how big he is
Holy f***. You just made me look up Nokia's streams and it still didn't hit 500 million yet despite the song being out for basically 9 months now.
That's crazy for Drake standards, esp. since the song got played on pop radio and had a viral hook(s/o to Elkan) and dance to it.
And WDIM didn't dominate as much as people thought either even though it's still a memeable song and the best Iceman release to date.
Honestly, Drake needs to just cut off every song he dropped so far and regroup which I think he's already doing if we go off of Gordo.
Cause that Yeat song and the song where he raps "soul free" twice were ass. I lowkey think GNX's success and acclaim has made him very insecure as well since he knows his solo album is going to get compared to it post beef.
Posthumous songs generally don’t perform well
Basically what Fader said. But I’ll add he also needs to adjust the content. Even if he is the big bad tough guy it’s getting old in his music.
Drake used to bring something different to the table.
I think:

Wayne, Kanye, and Eminem also have hall of famer music careers that 80% of rappers will never achieve in their lifetime.
Does that mean they never dropped any disappointing music in their careers that warranted feedback or change?
And Taylor Made was only hyped for like one-two weeks partly because Kendrick didn't respond yet. I swear....when Euphoria dropped, niggas even on Drake's side straight up ignored that record and acted like Push Ups was the last diss.
Taylor Made was hyped up cause of the spectacle of it all and the fact that he dropped 2 disses back to back but, after the novelty wore off, people outside of Drake stans mostly viewed it as one of the weaker disses in the whole beef with only Heart Pt. 6 being worse.
Yeah but it was a dance album. I mean an album that’s of the traditional Drake rap/R&B fusion that we know
CLB and FATD falter mostly because they’re both so unfocused
That’s what scorpion was supposed to be but most of the songs were forgettable.
He will be doing numbers no matter what this is not this thread is about but do u really think there is no way hiphop community will respect him as much as before the beef?
Its not like he didnt have a lot of haters and people disrespecting him before too
He sued someone over rap beef. Obviously he always had haters and it’s not like no one is gonna keep riding with him, but with the b**** s*** he pulled there’s just absolutely no way his respect isn’t permanently harmed to some degree.

I never understood this move tho cuz if he dropped a short album it would still get the same plays with less filler
Honestly, Drake needs an executive producer.
A good executive producer at that.
Shi....even Rick Rubin could probably help him curate a strong, cohesive album that's not a pseudo-playlist.
He doesnt need to prove s*** after a run of 16 years
Niggas think him and Childish Gambino are equal in rap abilities.
He absolutely gotta prove himself now lol
But to answer @op question
A collection of works that show the public (both the fans and the haters alike) that there is a human being with a conscience behind the mic
he will once again drop a bloated ass album with 20+ songs
Hnvm and Her Loss out now
Idk if he keeps rapping like he did on FATD or these new songs from the stream this album will be incredibly bad. On the other hand $$$ was great, so lowkey hope he does a Pop album or something.
