Folks can't think critically for one second on this site to consider that art is beyond just their limited POV lol

If we had it this thread's way, Kanye would be rehashing George Condo album covers and the Weeknd would be doing gloomy "I'm so sad" self-portraits until the end of their careers

I don't think you get it. We don't want the same covers. We want better covers.

but in referring to the op, artists are doing album covers to catch your attention and be talked about. Not to look good.

Thats kinda wack. Like people would rather be a meme so people can talk about you for a day. Instead of making a really really good album cover and being discussed about it that way.

couldn't care less about these wack ass covers, but yall love to clown damien hirst, when daniel ashram is an actual cornball

Not gonna say the artist is always right, he handled a lot of things terribly throughout that rollout. Not having song titles for example was idiotic

All artists makes mistakes, and sometimes you don't agree with an artist's interpretations or actions. I thought the JIK cover was dogshit, but I'm not gonna subvert Kanye's vision for his art and what he thinks is best. Or what Gambino thinks best signifies the cover for 3.15.20.
We all got our preferences though.

thats why hoes was supposed to slide through and get they back brooooooke but nah instead we got that Jay verse.

I'm still saying that he needs to drop a full R&B album and I'm disappointed CLB wasn't it I was a massive fan of tracks like No Friends In The Industry and Knife Talk too.

I unironically want to see this s*** get its revisionist history shine, and not even because of Virgil's death

its insane how he managed to catch the 'fan cover art' vibe that I mentioned earlier but still pull it so well. oh no this is a hard f***ing cover

But what is better for you isn't better for him or her or them or the artist.

That's my entire point lol. What gives you credibility over the actual person making the art? Or me saying that I prefer that cover over the one you prefer?

the og cover was pretty better tho.

tbh all the scrapped covers he had were very nice but the fanmade ones are just horrible

nah cause it actually made sense with the album content lol.

Yeah if you hear the song fear while looking at the cover its literally how I imagine his face when he rapping that song.

Idk why you'd be on a music forum if you feel this way tbh. Like the entire point is to discuss our opinions

haven't heard that but I like that explanation.

that being said I changed the art for both on my Apple Music lol

na i think its a bs explanation lmao

i would assume its similar to gambino’s idea (his mother’s death) but both covers are uninspired af imo lol

the only cool thing abt the donda cover is how it relates to his fashion this era imo

anyways i'm gonna post some covers that i loved in the last couple years "mainstream or not"

the 070 shake album cover is amazing and somehow the artist who made it is also responsible for all the terrible logic album covers

  • they figured out they could get a homie to do it for next to nothing rather than paying a professional, not that deep.
