backpack i think more of like talib, mos def, 2010s lupe, real early eminem, 2000s consequence etc.
modern lupe, jay electronica, kendrick etc. theyre like a variant of "concious" - but there's also like "light" conscious like kendrick and earlier joey, jcole, big krit, 2pac, gangstarr, outkast etc. that still have mainstream sensibilities then theres like hardcore conscious like modern lupe, modern jay elec, blu, absoul, Paris, dead prez etc.
and yeah most of what he named i would call "alt" too - kinda basically the b******ization n stagnant made up idea of "real Rap" from internet dork and white hipsters that doesnt exist outside their corner like atmosphere, aesop rock, jedi mind tricks, logic etc.
