maybe didn’t meet some of the massive expectations quality wise that ppl psyched themselves to have, but was certainly carti’s undeniable step up as one of the leading figures today

All of Playboy Carti music sucks but that's a feature of Atlanta. Most of their music sucks, like most places, but they have the trends of the past decades plus. I've always seen Atlanta as a re-emerging birthplace of Jazz, but using their voices as instruments
I like the direction towards Jazz and not Rockstar

im looking forward to the youth finally getting bored w copying carti like theyve been doin the past decade and rap completely falling out of favor so it can reinvent itself like a phoenix out the ashes
wud like to see sampling become more prevalent but for it to be much more left field~distinctly 2030s+ than just the lo-fi/drumless/boom bap/chipmunk soul nostalgia bait we're used to
If this is the case then I need the future of the rap game to sound like Matt Proxy, Dragnutz, and some Aquillacore

Depends on what angle you’re looking at it, but it feels like UVST is the more “important” album here when it comes to Spanish-language music being such an accepted, massive force in the U.S. music scene (by the masses, I know Benito’s been big since 2017).
I also know DtMF is very explicit on Puerto Rican political efforts, which is super important in its own light.

his album was a long time coming and i felt personally connected bc of how transparent he was with his fans about the things he was going thru on human level, which is why i feel like his album felt like a personal win for everyone
