The forgotten follow up to the first classic
I loved this album as a kid but I’m listening to it in full
for the first time in 10 years to see how it holds up
Some of it is pretty dated/corny but there’s some slappers ngl

Few really strong songs (Amnesia, You got it On, Not a Bad Thing, Drink you Away) in an album of mostly misses or overlong songs. The first part was incredible but also very indulgent and didn’t need a follow up.
He should have used all leftovers from Part 1 instead of recording new songs. With that it does have some great songs though
Amnesia
Cabaret
Drink You Away
Not A Bad Thing

What leftovers were from pt1?
Generally I only listen to the singles & cabaret
forgettable
tbh cant remember the last time I played part 1 either

Not sure what leftovers made Part 2
After Part 2 dropped Timbo said they had like 12 records that didn’t make Part 1. Wish we could get those some day

Insane
Yeah I do wonder why he made a whole diff album
Definition of came and went
Part one was huge, part 2 had that annoying TKO single and disappeared instantly
It’s absolutely wild how this could’ve been a James Fauntleroy album but he love chocolate cake too much to be marketable

Part 2 was also pretty big, take back the night and not a bad thing were two of the biggest singles from the era after suit and tie and mirrors
Gonna try running the live setlist and see if that sounds good as a blend of the two
The beginning of the end for his run
Cabaret not being a single was lunacy
You already got it on.
I dont
I feel like 20/20 was so big he shoulda waited longer for this

tbh he basically did the whole deluxe album thing before it was hot
I don’t really think pt 2 being a miss mattered much for JT. It was Man of the Woods which was the beginning of the end. An idea that Pharrell’s IDF ass gave him. F*** Pharrell
