I love the first part of Champagne party mostly cause of the beat though but the second part sounds like the second part of Furthest Thing. 21 savage did his thing on knife talk and Drake verses has elements of Popstar. F***ing fans and Not you too beats are really similar and Not you too is the superior song to me

I didn't look into the lyrics, so right now it's probably the amount of features, maybe it hit harder as Kanye Khaledified his album too.

Rappers all keep elements from their old music. Drake has ventured to different sound and flows within Drill, Afrobeats etc. Different pockets of pop, in this album he has songs and beats that don’t like something he’s done recently sonically (In too deep, IMY2 etc.)

Drake has NEVER lead with a single that sounds like way to sexy either 🤣

way 2 sexy is fire. I can usually find 1 or 2 songs per album from him I keep, but for the most part his albums sound exactly how you would expect. don't really hear anything new from him outside of him hopping on trends

production, flows, cadence, delivery has largely been the same for the last 5 years.

The Remorse, Knife Talk, No Friends, Way 2 Sexy, Girls Want Girls and more could have easily came out in 2018. The Remorse could be on More Life, just listen to Lose You. Knife Talk could go on any 21 Savage project.. No Friends could go on Scorpion, Way 2 Sexy could go on So Much Fun by Young Thug or any Future project in the past 5 years. CLB isn't giving us anything that feels truly new from Drake (except maybe Get Along Better).

There's no hunger, no artistry, no new ideas being presented. He's just gotten lazy or maybe he's just uninspired but either way it doesn't really matter because he still gets praise for everything he puts out, he has no incentive to change or get better.

Heat of the Moment, Furthest Thing, Worst Behavior, Vital, The Motion, Connect, Wu-Tang Forever, Madonna, Fire & Desire, Feel No Ways... these are some of his best songs because they actually bring something new and different to his sound.

There's nothing wrong with the Drake sound but after years and years of doing it, it's just predictable and unexciting. it's not bad, just disappointing
