They sell them in the library at my college, I haven’t had any classes that use em but other ppl def do

ive had teachers who flat out docked points if ur test was written in pen.
its bc u can erase pencil but not pen.
the point tho is that u would be f***ing up if u showed up on test day w just a pen no pencil. u would be unprepared. like bringing a knife to a gunfight. or bringing your (nas's) lyrical abilities to a rap beef against Jay-Z.
a pretty simple line tbh
I remember trying to take math tests with a pen and having to cross out a bunch of s***, teacher could barely even grade it

you're too young to know this but back in the day you took most exams with scantrons that only let you bubble in answers with a number 2 pencil
if you brought a pen you wouldn't be able to use it
Having to ask a classmate for an extra scantron or pencil for an exam <<<<
