as a 25 year old thats listened to drake since i was 11 i dont get what this nigga did to yall. like this is clearly one of the greatest rappers to ever do this but just because he sings his hooks now he a popstar. literally there is no difference between drake and future yet drake is called the pop star. why cant you sing without being called a pop star

i think the real things people can criticize drake on isnt even talked about, people just dont like this nigga.

like am i insane? did i not listen drake dominate an entire decade with a pen that had the greatest artist of all time doing tricks on that s***

ngl if i was that nigga id be evil too

I feel you but I understand why tbh

    • He already started as a pretty hate-able character from the beginning (lightskin half Jewish kid raised in the suburbs of Toronto Canada with his white mom, Degrassi child star who suddenly rapping with his chest poked out on ymcmb which was also hated at the time)

    • Since then haters been getting more and more ammo to build on top of that initial hatable foundation (ghostwriting allegations, Pusha T, culture vulture allegations, nail polish, list goes on)

    • His talent is undeniable but his amiable “please everyone” approach to album making and refusal to commit to any particular artistic vision puts people off and generally makes people look at Drake projects more like big pop culture events and less like albums that need to be taken seriously creatively. This is ultimately why the critics turned on him since views and the critics ultimately serve as a platform of validation for haters. “If this professional publication hates Drake then I must be justified in hating him too!”

    • He put expectations on himself to fill the void of the likes of Hov and Kanye (“I’m just feeling like the Throne is for the taking, watch me take it”, “You rapping like the Throne should be the 3 of y’all” “I used to wanna be on Rocafella then I turned into Jay” etc etc but ultimately even though he’s surpassed them as a hit maker none of his albums have had the same cultural significance as Jay-Z or Kanye’s master works, even the ones considered “Classics” like NWTS etc.

    • he is the most dominant figure in rap and has been for a while so people naturally hate the person who keeps winning. Same way they hated Lebron most of his career or Brady (especially when he was with the patriots). People want to see him loose and subconsciously think they can just hate him away lol.

    • he is a troll so he antagonizes the haters and makes them hate him more and he generally does stuff that a lot of people perceive as weird or corny

There aren’t necessarily my thoughts on Drake just saying I COULD SEE how someone thinks this

He does s*** like this tho

    Love the cream shirt
The color of the overcoat compliments the rest of the fit perfectly. But its too long imo. Whole fit would've been 9/10 if the coat was knee length and the pants werent that baggy.

It's a pretty charitable interpretation of future music, not even denying he does that in his music. But I don't get how one can see the merit and depth in future lyrics but turn a blind eye with drake's

yeah i think this is the big one here, even Take Care is acknowledged as influential and groundbreaking but it’s not necessarily considered a masterpiece on par with other big hitters like a Blueprint or an Ready To Die, even if it is classic in its own right

I took a class on the Beatles in college and what really struck me was that a ton of the first words sang in a song is the title of the song.

ya pretty much but i think most people pick and choose when to hold artists accountable anyways so it’s pretty useless to even get up in arms about

most casuals don’t even give two s***s (or even outright know, lol) about what certain artists did reprehensible
