I keep seeing ppl say “yeah but kendricks 4 are better classics than waynes 13.”

If you ask a nigga hustling in the streets who has better albums I guarantee theyre picking Wayne over Kendrick.

Thank you Rande for the inside scoop on what street hustlers listen to

Ktt back at it again with thinking street niggas only like a specific style of rap

  • rhyming rhino

Why are y’all talking about kendrick features when he does like 1 per year

Wayne invented the feature run and raised the bar so now its the standard for being a goat they just pointing out Kendrick isn't capable to do that

Why just so y’all can disagree with me?

You just said Wayne isn’t top 10 or a goat I wouldn’t think you’d be afraid of a little disagreement

    This thread was made right?

No one ever questions Drake/Jay/Wayne status. Their solidified because they did it for the culture.

The only way Kendrick get his status is through critics and internet nerds.

Fair but I think the issue is when we view those albums through that lens of being classics of the genre are we saying that based on the totality of it, specific songs that were culturally shifting, highest highs, being unique or experimental, etc. I’m just seeing people throw the word “flawless” or “10/10” and I’m sorry but that’s completely subjective and using that as your argument is weak to me personally

My only argument is that if Albums are what artist work towards and is what stands the test of time, then Kendrick has a case

In the same instance. Lil Wayne has shown that you can be the goat with Mediocre albums but he ca be considered th3 greatest prime rapper of all time.

No one will ever replicate a career like wayne has outside of albums. Everyone else needs albums to make their resumes worth it

It’s not that, it’s the demographics of ktt2. It’s less of a true hip hop forum and more of a youth culture forum. Hip hop just trendy rn. Most of these people know maybe 1 or 2 Wayne songs. It’s my bad for tryna have a nuanced discussion about why Kendrick hasn’t really reached that goat level. Literally everywhere but here you will have consensus that jay z and Wayne are 1 and 2 but kids itt saying Wayne isn’t top ten and jay z is a bad rapper like I’m out

Well I can’t argue with anything you’re saying but I think that just reassures my sentiment of trying to avoid directly comparing artists across different generations/time periods. They’ll all be remembered for different reasons and the only definitive takeaway is guys like Jay Z and Lil Wayne helped pave the way for guys like Kendrick to carve out their own legacy. Kendrick is doing the same for guys we either know or don’t know down the road

Weird It feels like no one even seen him since the Black Panther soundtrack

Kendrick really dropped his two weakest projects back to back and then dipped

Bro really worked his ass off to have an immaculate discography (2011-2016) just to end up degrading his rapping and artistry on DAMN and BP to sell records and leave a sour taste on everyone’s mouth

    Where the f*** is him?

Now youre just reaching. Nobody said that. But you are not what the measuring stick of what classic is. Real tangible experiences are what makes something truly classic. Ive never even heard someone play kendrick from a car that wasnt mine. I used to hear Wayne every day.
