Bro you're not this dumb. There is a reason why artist put so much focus into albums.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking time to craft an album but if you wanna be mentioned with niggas who are gods of the genre you better be swinging with something more than that. I don’t like comparing artists across generations because s*** is different but at the end of the day as much as I love all three at this time Kendrick ain’t in that bracket with those guys

What you’re not understanding is that to be compared to Wayne and Hov you have to have classic albums AS WELL as all the other s***, cultural influence, smash records, and consistent output.

Nigga wayne isn't a goat becsuse of his albums. I just said this.

Jay and Wayne did alot of features with rappers all across america idk how much that plays in but

That’s apart of it fs. Another area where Kendrick is lacking. I said this earlier itt but bro had Youngboy and Roddy on record speaking highly of him. Prime Wayne would’ve did a song with them each.

how is he pandering to critics

He tries to be too artsy and takes forever to make albums because he wants to “perfect” it. Both of those things critics eat up.

It's just I've actually seen niggas on here say Kurt isn't on that level. Maybe they were baiting but he definitely a top icon if not the top for 90's music. Kind of how Juice was for 2010's hip-hop even with a small amount of time compared to other rappers

Kurt literally created a sub genre and a trillion clones. Anyone saying otherwise you shouldnt waste your time with.

90s rappers are legends based solely on albums.
And Albums aren't the end all be all but they hold the most Weight

Take away Hovs classic albums and leave everything else and he isn't the goat
Biggie is literally in convos from his skill set and his albums.

I’m saying Kendrick can’t compare because he hasn’t dominated long enough or impacted the game the same. Its like saying you can compare Luka to Lebron or Kobe. You just cant yet. Maybe one day, MAYBE, but right now, no.

He needs to go on a feature run and have some long lasting crossover hits.

Him dropping an album and disappearing can only work for so long, plus that strategy can backfire if he drops dud.

Wayne started to impact the game after his 5th album. Kendrick isn't retired. This is a thread about what he has to do. Bit if you count their first 5 albums Kendrick is literally smoking wayne which is my point

  • For as good as GKMC is and for as much as I like it there are still four songs, and half of a song, that are always easy skips to me.

  • For me he needs to deliver another classic album, create some more hits & start doing better on features if he wants to jump up to that level

Bro, no. 90’s niggas are legends because they had a high skill level, literally paved the way for todays acts to be successful, they started trends, had kids in high school dressing like them, and infiltrated pop culture from the street’s perspective. Dont get it twisted. They had runs of dominance in the 90’s too.

    Yes. Every album since C2.

Wayne managed to create hype for his Carter series and thats it, whereas Kendrick does it with every album. Effortlessly.

Wayne will never be truly relevant again whereas Kendrick will most likely NEVER lose relevancy.

Bro, Wayne’s mixtapes had more hype than Kendrick’s album stfu
