thinking of making the move up to Oregon from California... what are your thoughts about life there.
Their downtown looks crazy and gray compared to Houston when I visited. Lot's of nature all around though.
Major downgrade lolz
I watched a yt vid ofa white boy who drove from Florida to Washington, washington kinda close, Thats about it
they had a fire cult town outside the city
that rajneeshpuram place
@Uhhhhhh
A bunch of people in this thread talking about a state they don’t actually live in
I actually do, so if you want an honest POV, ask away @op

How is it? The city life? The nature? Is portlandia even 20% accurate

A lot of the propaganda from the right that has painted Portland as a hellish dystopia is largely inaccurate. No denying that the city has its problems, but it's really no different from Seattle or Chicago having their own problems. Portlandia is definitely accurate to a degree, even if some of it is exaggerated for satirical reasons.
Portland is kind of the cultural hub of the state, but I wouldn't say it's the main reason for moving here. The thing about Oregon that makes it superior to multiple states, is its geographical diversity. You get the city, but you also get gorgeous wheat fields in the country, mountains that stand tall against the skyline, coastlines that gives you a sense of calm & clarity, forests with waterfalls and trails that are meant to be explored, It even has desert in the middle lmao.
Portland is a good city, but the greatness lies in exploring the entire state.

California a bit overrated. San Diego is everything but too expensive. I been to Portland a few times and it’s nice to me. I love the nature vibes. What are your thoughts ?
i wanna go one day
Visited for a few days for work
Accidentally booked my hotel in Lloyd District which was a huge mistake lmaoo, s*** was full of TWEAKERS hitting the fent pose. I can handle myself though so I was moving cautious but still moving around
But when I crossed the river into Downtown Portland, it was actually a super vibe. Was my first time seeing fall colors n stuff. Was also near a college that was just letting out so it was packed and busy all around, I really liked it, very charming city imo
Barely got to explore, though. I’d probably go back, but only if I’m already in the area. Like, I’d love to visit Washington, Montana, or Wyoming so if I’m ever around there and can afford to, I’d go back and snoop around more. I heard Stand by Me was filmed in Oregon, I’d like to see places that fit that kind of vibe
Couldn’t tell you what it’s like living there.. honestly as a south Floridian, I can’t really imagine moving anywhere else. I wouldn’t have minded staying there for college or something though idk
I’m very familiar.
Eugene > Portland for a few reasons.
Lots of d**** and homelessness in both areas. Portland is very liberal. Eugene kinda 50/50 honestly. Almost everywhere else is more conservative than you’d think, but that’s just rural land.
