Honestly it might be my favorite album ever

Part of that is that you can hear what it could have been but a lot of it is finished and it’s just so unbelievably forward thinking and different

Like it’s just with no disrespect to disabled people or to Jai Paul it’s like that autistic level of genius where it’s almost beyond even understanding how he does what he does on it

I’m in a group chat with Kenny Beats and he still 7 years later is looking for people who can talk about how Jai did things musically on that record because people still don’t know how he did it

The leaked version is much better. Slightly worse mixing but way way more vital samples

Pop style is ok but better as a solo drake song
I like glow but a lot of ppl didnt
Prob wldnt have been as well received

Name some of the biggest mishaps in hip hop, whether it be Leaks that ruined the potential release, death, beefs that could’ve resulted in a different shift of eras

Here are a few off the top of my head.

• Kanye and Drake beef

This could have been huge, two of the biggest names in 2016 coming together for a collab album, we can only imagine the greatness that would have came from this. This all led to KSG and the Pusha T beef so I guess it made up for itself so

•Dr Dre’s Detox

Songs like these kept in vaults because of leaks like this video
(In video Dr Dre, Eminem and others in studio)

Out of all the Dre leaks, this one felt like the real deal and the one that ruined Detox’s release. He had everything he needed coming off of Eminem’s successful comeback, Kush single, COACHELLA performance, and the success of his Beats headphones. he was almost ready to release this album in 2012. Due to leaks and indecisive, all we have is imagination on what would’ve been

•Lil Snupe

so much to say about this one but I’ll keep it short. Meek Mill’s Protegé with what seemed like an unlimited amount of potential.

Stuff like this proved how huge he would’ve been. And one of the best, if not the best, freestylers and would have definitely made an impact in the rap industry.

• Encore Leaks

This was one on my list but I removed it because I didn’t want trolls to derail the thread.

But those leaks really hurt that era and his image. He was forced to release the album 3 days early to fight against it which led to only 3 days being counted for his first week sales. In those 3 days it sold 710k which were considered low for Eminem.
The total 7 day sales were 1.5M

The original most likely didn’t have tracks 10-14 which were added last minute as a replacement for these leaked tracks which were on the bonus disc

Instead of the joke tracks which ruined the streak he was on. I wonder if he would’ve been viewed different if he just said f*** it and never released those replacement tracks and left the original ones on there instead. Maybe a different route for Eminem musically

Just got done listening to it and I must say, it was really great. Layered production and sparse arrangements really made me lost into the music, and I think Jai’s vocals compliment it well. There are couple of sections where I wasn’t feeling it too much or spaced out, maybe cuz I’m tired now lol. Ill say though it reminds me of Kaytranada, especially with some of his drums and synths.

I’ll most likely give it few more spins within the next week or so, I could tell it’ll get better with every listen
