i’m actually happy elon buying twitter is destroying it, it’s time for all that s*** to end

i actually think the concept of twitter is the least harmful social media, and it's a shame it could not simply just exist without need for it to be a money machine.

i would have agreed with you before 2020, but all social media fell off once companies needed the data and established everything there

Insanity. I was 21/22 when they blew up so luckily was "of age", never got into that s*** though.

Been saying it's insanity how our parents were the ones to tell us "don't believe what you see on the internet", and they were the ones who ended up having their brains turn to mush from it.

feels like 2020 was memoryholed for the most part. Obviously pandemic stuff aside I’m talking BLM riots and all the energy going into summer + throughout + even election season

I’m not sure what happened, but after J6 felt like it should’ve been given a more in depth a***ysis than it was, I started to realize in 2021 it def felt like just calm but not in a good way, nothing felt complete post-2020.

More just calm before the storm type s***

A lot of people who never cared or wouldn’t really take social media serious is up there now because of politics and the “woke v anti woke” agenda, it was over after that

politics is a lot bigger than being woke vs anti-woke though man

If you want to throw away and demonize ppl for caring about issues under the guise of being annoying or too woke that’s a privilege alot would kill to have

And I mean your point is valid about modern day social media only activist types, but like it doesn’t make much sense for that to be the end all be all

Like just because you personally don’t care isn’t indicative of other people.

This is an oversimplification though lol like yea you can say that but he deff helped make the culture war worse and he’s pushed the envelope as far as how crazy mfs can go with it now.

I highly doubt the niggas that’s tryna run for president in 24 would’ve been doing all the nut s*** they doing now if Trump wasn’t bugging out.

    Compare 2015 to now

it’s not about whether or not you care about those issue which are just arguments, it’s that these platforms are creating a much deeper problem within them and not being equipped to handle it mentally. The entire reason online bullying can’t be fixed is because those who are “obsessive” or “sensitive” end up having online addictions.

Cause i did say even if you are on the right side of history with specific s*** we should speak about(even in this thread there’s some) the discourse surrounding it never becomes productive anymore, it just gets grouped into an agenda when it’s online.
