I mean the events to put him in GOAT conversations
Control verse - declaring himself as the best
TPAB era -king kunta leak etc.
GKMC - orking with Dre
The City Feature- where he showedproved and introduced himself in mainstream
Destroying drake - superbowl performance
Putting TDE on map and leading it and his impeccable feature run
Mr Morale- making an amazing and very personal album
od s80 - bringing back Conscious rap to hiphop and grinding on it
DAMN- successfully making a dope mainstream album

BP soundtrack should be added imo
one of the best modern film soundtracks we’ve got, and he should have curated the second one aswell
Alright kids we gone talk about gun control

DAAAAAMN
craziest s*** ever
Which is what makes Kendrick the GOAT
Thanks for proving my point
You gotta do what most rappers dont if you wanna surpass them, and Kendrick has more classics on the way to solidify it even more
Hopefully Kanye gets back on track so he can partake in the greatness again
I think it goes beyond classic albums though.
Otherwise, Biggie would've been "surpassed" by many rappers over 2 decades ago for only having 2 classics which many rappers also have.
Eminem has 3 certified classics and a very uneven discography but his impact and contributions in his career are so immense that I wouldn't fault someone for giving him GOAT status with everything factored in, including his multiple duds.
I just think discography is only part of the puzzle when it comes to measuring rappers.
meeting Jay Rock and being his hype man
Telling Q to stop being his hype man and make his own path
Real boss s***

Biggie and Em have been surpassed for me personally
Not to speak for him, but I think that being his most commercial album kinda puts a stink on it for a fanbase that doesnt really give a f*** about commerical success, great album, but for me, its not one of his best at all imo, I would put GNX and MM over it personally
Damn is way better then that snoozefest Mr morale
He definitely more polished than they were musically as an artist.
Like how a Nas was more polished as an artist than Rakim
Learning from them but taking it to another level musically and being more consistent.
Yeah agreed.
Just an improvement on the legends
And one day a kid will come out that really cares about the craft like that and have the talent to surpass him and take this thing further
