    whataboutism^

    Her whole arguments are whataboutisms.

But I can argue that point.

Drake came out and marketed himself as a respecter of women. A gentleman, etc etc. A nice guy. He played into this 100%. That's what partially made him so likeable by women.

His music always had misogynism and childish views on women. Basically typical male thoughts about women from any 20-30 year old male. The argument I have is as a man almost approaching 40, you'd expect a better perspective on women then, I buy all these things for you, why do you keep playing me. Am I the only one that thinks this is beyond corny for a grown man.

And just cause other rappers do it does not mean Drake has to do it. Yo this logic is so dumb.

Also, Drake's peers/competition don't really talk about women like this at all in this stage of their career (Cole and Kendrick)

How is critiquing what he talks about in his music not critiquing the quality of his music? The subject matter of music is essential.

But fine I can also critique the music itself if you don't want me to critique the subject matter.

For All the Dogs is filled with lazy verses and clear cash grabs.

He literally took Cash Cobain's reference word for word and made Calling for You. This is pure laziness.

First Person Shooter is a J. Cole song. I don't think I remember the last time Drake got washed on a song like that. He had two verses and it was like he didn't try. He got hung up like some dry clean.

IDGAF clearly a Yeat song that he added an amateur verse on. Remember when Drake said songs sound like Drake ft. Drake. Yea you can clearly see it's a Yeat song.

All the parties. Run it back, such lazy writing.

Gently. Oh my god. What an abomination. Bad Bunny is a huge artist, so it's any easy hit. Yet he didn't even try. It felt unfinished. It's mostly a Bad Bunny song. Clear cash grab

That's just a light critique of his music/songs itself. See nothing about the subject matter. All about "the songs" (this argument makes no sense, the subject matter is part of a song).

And you keep bringing up these other rappers. Lil Wayne always gets criticized for his childish raps, Future isn't considered a lyrical rapper, which is what Drake wants to be considered. You can keep deflecting by bringing up other guys but that doesn't mean the criticism of Drake is illegitimate because he is doing the same thing as others. This logic is horrendous.

Then I guess you're just gonna keep crying about Drake not giving you what you want in his music while still listening to him more than any other artist. Congratulations.

You really have poor reading comprehension. No one is "crying." Just simple discussions.

You're the only one taking this stuff so personal.

But as you grow up, you'll figure it out. Hopefully.

    Drake needs:

    • OVO SOUND Radio where he does a COMPLETE Hard drive dump of old leaks, demos, remixes etc. Clear the complete archives.

    • Then take that to bridge you to new music…of mixtape stuff. No “new” stuff. Go back to jacking for beats and outright freestyles. It’s Mixtape Mode time.

    • PUT ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT AND COMEBACK SEASON ON STREAMING! Finally! Its time! You’re too big of an artist without a full streaming catalog. Show people who you are and how you got here.

Bro perspectives on women have nothing to do with age

There are a lot of young hopeless romantic betas who worship the ground women walk on and there are guys in their 40s and even 50s who spin plates and are frame aware.

    Drake is red pill, iykyk

    Totally fair.

You'd just expect as a person matures for them to have better perspectives on these things. Typically that's what happens with people or what you expect out of people, but you're right, it's not linear and everyone goes through different phases or perspective changes.

I'm not too familiar with all that red pill, manosphere stuff, but they are all super corny dudes, and Drake is also a very corny dude.

I do not understand this desire to have women coddled like this. The guy doesn’t hate women and he’s honest about his opinions on a few of them. What sort of conspiracy are you all projecting?

Who’s coddling them? He keeps crying about women leaving him for “lesser men” who have less money than him. And how he buys them condos, rollies, cars etc yet they leave.

This is ridiculously corny and a weird perspective on relationships.

    He’s 37-38 talking like this.

And I already brought up going at Rihanna being ridiculously weird. The s***with you was average. This is like a 8 year old relationship.

    SO?

Do you know who Future is?

its quite possible something else happened behind the scenes.

I don't understand why people keep saying so Future does it?? How are Future and Drake in the same realm when it comes to rap music? Drake wants to sit at the table with the greats. Future never aspired to be in that lane. Drake's peers are Kendrick and Cole. I don't see these guys talking about women like that.

And just because Future does it, does not mean it isn't corny. I don't understand this whataboutism. Is Future Drake's role model? His father? So what if Future does it. That doesn't change anything

And as you said yes for me it is very corny, weird, and childish. He literally is saying just because he pays for the woman, they should be with him. On top of that how lame is it to be like the guy you ended up with is nothing like me. How many times is this guy going to say this. Yea if you don't find this corny and odd, we just have different perspectives on life, which is fine. I'll stay on this side.

And sure, maybe there was something behind the scenes with Rihanna. Who knows. If he wanted to talk about it, he could've done it a more tasteful and mature way than saying her s***was average and being bitter about ASAP Rocky. This is literally some high school level stuff.

sharing honest opinions about negative experiences with women is weird, got it.

YOU got it. He should be rapping about having knock-down-drag-out domestic abuse battles with his spouse?

    or how about abortion?

Again, you’re really doing this impossible reframing of what you expect from him while not showing examples of what you want to hear.

Then again Hov is 50 rapping about coke he sold 30 years ago so I guess having the streets to lean on gives you a long run way. Word to Pusha.

No what I'm saying is he probably needs to grow up or do some soul searching if this is how he views women at this point in his life. I never refuted the fact that he's rapping about his life. He is. That's the issue, if this is how he views people at his old age.

It's not that hard to understand.

I'm not sure how one can listen to his music and be like yea this is normal thoughts on women.

Examples of what I think would show growth is maybe going into why he thinks these relationships aren't working, why he can't find love, does he actually want to find love, etc etc. He alludes to these things for sure, but maybe go deeper into it. Instead of blaming women all the time, maybe go into his own self.

But the women stuff is just a small glimmer of why I think he's gotten more immature and corny as he has progressed into his career.

In his major rap song in this beef, he's talking about dude's banging sets. Who in the hell is Drake to be talking about this stuff. Is he implying Kendrick isn't a real gang banger? When did Kendrick ever say he was? It's total tone deafness and shows his lack of awareness/maturity. Drake is the resident gangbanger judge?

One dude broke down his opponent's whole character and did a total character assassination, while the other guy is talking about banging sets, and having a house so far away that a girl has to drive 2 hours to give out b******s. :

I find nothing wrong with how he views women, as you put it if he’s referencing bad times with a few women. nor do I think you have any legitimate insight into how he should interact with women considering you dont know him or them.

I never refuted the fact that he's rapping about his life. He is. That's the issue, if this is how he views people at his old age.
It's not that hard to understand.

Whats with this Boy Scout evangelical mission you all are on? He’s a rich bachelor. I dont think you know many of those or how they behave.

Let me tell you…they’re ALL like that.

I'm not sure how one can listen to his music and be like yea this is normal thoughts on women.

    I truly do not care

Examples of what I think would show growth is maybe going into why he thinks these relationships aren't working, why he can't find love, does he actually want to find love, etc etc.

You might be listening too closely. And he doesn’t owe this to you and I doubt he’s trying to find the answer to this and hoping you can help him.

He alludes to these things for sure, but maybe go deeper into it. Instead of blaming women all the time, maybe go into his own self.

theres nothing wrong with blaming women if you’re making music. Again, this is just weird pseudo masculine projection of what you think he should be doing and not just accepting what he’s putting out.

But the women stuff is just a small glimmer of why I think he's gotten more immature and corny as he has progressed into his career.

And kendrick had dudes in their late 30s and 40s doing active gang activity on stage. Who’s the real embarrassment here?

One dude broke down his opponent's whole character and did a total character assassination, while the other guy is talking about banging sets,

You think it was a character assassination except he lied about drake having a fake daughter and projected a list of social moral accusations about drinking and gambling as if kendrick knows the reality of any of these or that drake should comply with any of Kendricks criticisms.

If kendrick is going to be the d*** police, then I guess theres a new job I hadn’t heard of.

and having a house so far away that a girl has to drive 2 hours to give out b******s.

For someone that claims to have listened he said that was Ross, not Drake himself

I get it Drake can do no wrong according to some of you, but you guys misconstrue words purposely. Or just can't read.

Ultimately, I think a lot of what Drake says in his songs are childish, corny, and weird. You don't. That's fine. We'll agree to disagree. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy his music.

But there's just no way anyone can see this turn on Drake and how badly he lost to Kendrick and be like yea he'll be fine.

He will always have these asterisks to him, ghost writing, reference tracks, and losing embarrassingly to two lyrical rappers. Some of the greatest diss tracks in rap music are about Drake. This isn't ever going away.

You think you have a god given right to dictate morality to others because you think drake doesn’t rigidly comply with your expectations of him as an artist.

You straight projected his relations with women to be lacking as some personal moral failure and not some attempt at spicing up the music. You dont know the dude and you need actual role models.

Nah, I’ll be fine. You won’t. You dont have actual male leaders in your life which is why you’re looking for artists to have the best interactions with women to guide you as something to aspire to. You need kendrick to demonstrate what you think manhood is which is why you think attacking drake makes you more of one.

You Boy Scouts are all the same.

Na this all stemmed from Drake falling off and how this Kendrick beef/battle is a big knock on him. It just delved into how he has been "falling off" lately, even before this battle, but the battle itself will be a big knock to his legacy.

So in your opinion, why do you think ultimately Drake lost? Do you think it'll impact his career, etc?
