Sometimes, you just gotta let them run with their delusional narratives.

Drake haters will move the goalposts to a hit being only something Gods Plan level 😭

Wasnt gods plan his first ? Thats like 10 years into his career
So, you think the reason why he hasn't had a "legitimate" hit in ages is because his music is no longer mature? What are you even saying?
And I'm not taking anything personally. I'm just calling out how silly your critiques about his music are. The same older Drake music you're now calling mature is the same music countless people mocked him for in the past for being too soft or too sensitive. No one never gave that music any sort of credit for being emotionally intelligent or mature for that age and that time until he got older and decided to lean into having more fun in his music. All of a sudden, all that older music has now turned into the bar he's supposed to meet at this point in his career. Do y'all even support the songs he has in his discography that lean more mature? Do y'all actually listen to those songs?
Also, who are you to decide what's real or not in/about his music? Drake makes songs about s*** going on in his life. Whether that's about him dealing with IG thots or untrustworthy women, that's his reality. Maybe you can't relate to whatever that lifestyle is but it doesn't mean he should all of a sudden stop making music that reflects that reality just to please you or whoever else shares your thoughts about his music. That music is real to him because it's true to his life and that's all that matters. As much as YOU might not relate to it, there's a whole lot of people who do.
Drake doesn't need to do anything other than what he WANTS to do. You and a bunch of other people who have become overly-critical of his music are the ones at fault because you've gone from simply enjoying his music for what it is (which is how all music should be engaged with btw) to placing demands on what you feel it should be. It's his art. It's his life. It's his career. It's his legacy. If it doesn't do it for you anymore, you can always move on. I know that I've done that with a handful of artists I used to be a huge fan of whose music stopped doing for me. I stopped listening to their new stuff while I revisit their older stuff. If they have shows in my city, I still support them by attending and copping merch so I'm still very much a fan in the ways I can still be. There's no rule that states you HAVE TO keep listening to Drake, especially when you have so many complaints about his music that most of his fanbase doesn't seem to have because they keep listening to the music.
I never said his older music was mature. You're misconstruing words. I said it was more mature than his music is now. So he's literally aging in reverse. And his core audience was younger back in the day, so what he was saying resonated with them and because they were younger that music felt more mature.
And I agree, it's no one's place to tell an artist how to make his or her music. However, the fact you said he makes music that he is dealing with right now, such as IG thots or untrustworthy women is the whole point I am making. He hasn't grown up. He's still making talking the same stuff he was talking about on Take Care, etc and approaching it the same way. So it's been 13-14 years and you are saying the same stuff? You're still dealing with the same type of IG thot women, etc. Isn't that the epitome of not growing up?
And look it's not anyone's place to tell a person how or when to grow up. But it's just apparent he's a 37-38 year old man child. The way he talks about women, relationships, etc, is how a early 20 year old talks about them. Why would you leave me for that loser after I gave you all these rollies. There's definitely more to his life than this, but he never delves deeper into it, and I think it's because it's hard to do that because you'll have to be 100% honest with yourself and about yourself.
And that's why this whole battle was so easy for Kendrick. There's so much ammo against Drake and he literally brought up all these talking points. It's all out there and so many people have seen it. Drake is stagnant and you just hope he goes through the nature progression of growing up sooner than later.

How long did those songs stay at number 1? They literally came and went. And First Person Shooter was so lazy on his part. He got washed by Cole. It's like Drake didn't even try. It felt like a Cole song.
Look at the songs he hops on features as well. They don't get the same traction as they once did.
It could just be fatigue, but the so called hitmaker hasn't had a big time hit in a long time IMO.

If fps wasn't a legitimate hit, by those same standards not like us isn't a hit either. Both songs debuted 1 and weren't number 1 the week after. So idk wtf they talking about.

The audience is completely fatigued.. i don’t think he can have the kind of hit you speak of at this stage. It’ll be a hit in the sense that he’s generally ubiquitous but that doesn’t feel the same as a hit that sweeps the “culture” and I think being a newer, novel artist is more conducive to that feeling as well. Drake isn’t the only artist who suffers from this, I’d say the weeknd is in the same position. So I just find it weird to expect something else, it’s nostalgic.. we can’t get those times back.

So hits have to go #1 and stay there for multiple weeks?

I dont think they even believe what they saying. Cause then all of their favs have 0 hits.

They can't come up with something that also doesn't apply to kendrick so I guess they're counting out themselves too
No one is remotely on Drake's level of coming within an inch of surpassing him.
The kulture struggle is real that's why little man is stretching out that one lil song until the wax melts.
Cracking up, bent over with laughter.
Public perception is at an all time low, pushing 40, lost the most important beef of his career, and sales have been declining for years. He's flooding the market with music and trying to create memes to distract people from his controversies and maintain his relevance.
Obviously he's still one of the biggest artists out there but the fall off is written in the stars at this point
It's only a matter of time before a new artist pops up and takes his spot

One of you angels really need to meet up with great Devine and give her a hug cuz these walls of text are showing she really needs it right now
didnt read that fat ass text but yea bro need a hug
If Drake didn’t have any respect from powerful people he wouldn’t have obtained that ring that the midget yaps so much about
Some things are above money and that ring just confirms it. Is not like Dot dont have the money to buy but it but to have it is something you have to earn.

If they had no problem selling it to him then don’t be mad you didn’t think of buying it first 🤷🏽♂️
