I thought that was a perfect encapsulation of the issues Drake has right now. He hasn't grown up. He shouldn't be hanging out with Yachty so much that his music is influenced by Yachty. He shouldn't be trying to cosplay as Yachty with his outfits. He looks and sounds ridiculous.
He's trying to stay young, when what people really want out of him is maturity. Yachty and Drake should be in different points in their lives, yet Drake is trying to stay in Yachty's age range.
Staying "young" will get the streams, which ultimately keeps him on top money wise etc, but music wise you see the clear decline.
The only way Drake really breaks out of this "fall off" is if he finally grows up and brings in mature music. CLB, Her Loss, FATD, had enjoyable music, but barely any of it really sounds like it is coming from a seasoned, mature individual. Scorpion had more mature themes in it. He regressed maturity wise.
Even in the beef, Kenny is coming at it from a "mature perspective" (Even though neither guy really is being mature. They're using each other's innocent family members to push their agenda and get the win, but that's a topic for another time. Kendrick isn't some all knowing great person as people are trying to make it seem). Kenny is breaking down Drake's character. He knew this would hit hard. While Drake is rapping about how Chris Brown bangs a set. The difference in maturity in both artists' diss records is glaring.

i like the effort u put into this post but i don't think i'll ever give a s*** about this point. it's disguised as "Drake is immature" but boils down to "drake doesn't make the type of music I wish he would make".
is having younger friends immature? idk.. besides, yachty is pushing 30 its not like he's a young kid anyway.
is living a playboy lifestyle immature? maybe, but it's also something famous musicians have been doing for thousands of years, including a bunch of those allegedly more mature artists.
there's not really a reason to be saying Drake is significantly less mature than his contemporaries. people want to have a semi-objective moral justification to hate him, but it's a fabrication. really, his crime is not making old head 4:44 type rap, which is a purely subjective criticism.
I agree it's not anyone's place to tell an artist to "grow up" Their lifestyle is totally different than a regular person's. However, in my opinion I think it's clear as day no matter how you want to slice it, his music is extremely immature, and has actually regressed in maturity.
The epitome of immature is crying about a woman not liking you even though you bought her a condo, cars, jewels, etc, or leaving you for a "lesser man" and that guy being lesser because he makes less than you. This is such an immature viewpoint on women.

And I brought up Yachty because in that OVO radio special, Yachty was talking about how if it weren't for him Drake would be in his Tom Ford Cashmere sweater instead of dressing as he is now. Basically saying he'd be a old head instead of "cool" or "in". Basically this was how drake was dressing during his Views era. Yachty is 26. I wouldn't say that is pushing 30.
How he presents things in his music was probably novel, unique, fresh, a decade + ago when he was in his 20s and his listeners were in their teens-20s. But his listeners grew up, yet it seems like he didn't.
This doesn't mean he can't have fun records, or silly records, etc. But when the themes of your music are constantly about things you were talking about a decade + ago it gets stale and people start to question what exactly do you stand for.

Literally no one is saying this. Obviously his lifestyle is way different from an average person. I'm not sure why you spun that post to such an extreme.
We may disagree, but this guy has gotten unusually bitter, corny, and immature. Dissing Meg the Stallion, Rihanna, Esperanza Spalding, Dillon Brooks. All of it is so corny and childish.
He alludes to it all the time, about how even with all these things in his life (money, fame, material items, women) he's empty inside. He never goes into this more. Instead he falls back on his mob boss persona. He alludes to not being accepted in the black community, rap community, etc. He alludes to fatherhood. He alludes to always looking for love, but never finding it, but instead blames the woman for it.
The guy talks about deeper, mature things at such a surface level, but never goes into it.
Mature topics doesn't mean talking about paintings, or stocks, etc. He can literally discuss the same things he brings up in his music now, but go into it deeper than the surface level stuff that may have been interesting 10+ years ago when his core fanbase was younger. This would be super hard for himself, because he would have to be honest with himself and be fully vulnerable, which he hasn't done in such a long time.

Drake always wants to be placed in the GOAT conversation of rappers. He cares about that. Future isn't in that conversation. That's not what Future makes music for.
If Drake never put himself in that GOAT rapper category or cared about it at all, these critiques wouldn't happen.
