None of those were really hits for Drake though. Closest ones to being hits weren't even because of Drake ( IDGAF and RBD )

historically there's really been very few artists in that top of the mainstream lane that had a good decline going into their late 30s/40s. Jay pretty much wiped away the potential L that AG was with the massive BP3 and WTT. MCHG wasn't amazing but it did numbers then he pretty much dipped until 4:44 which was a critical W. But his secret was just NOT making as much music as he got older

Wayne was dropping OD and then just stopped. I don't really know how to evaluate where he is compared to where he was after say 2012. Em...bro.

I can't think of too many rappers that are megastars that attempted to increase their exposure as they got older, but I guess this generation is much different than the challenges those guys had at the same point

Public perception is at an all time low, pushing 40, lost the most important beef of his career, and sales have been declining for years. He's flooding the market with music and trying to create memes to distract people from his controversies and maintain his relevance.

Obviously he's still one of the biggest artists out there but the fall off is written in the stars at this point

It's only a matter of time before a new artist pops up and takes his spot

Ironically he would’ve been more appealing to the younger crowd if he wouldn’t have tried so hard to appeal to them in ways that seemed to stunt his growth

Kendrick is popular with that demographic especially now between the beef and songs like Money Trees/Swimming Pools getting massive second winds because new music fans are finding it through TikTok or wherever else

Drake has that effect with songs like Best I Ever Had, Fancy, Practice etc picking up a cult following in recent times. With a catalogue like his, he could have maintained his popularity (and dignity) if he played it straight.

Look at Sade. She’s obviously always been massive but she’s found a new, younger audience organically without even having to do anything. Same goes for Frank and Early Eminem on some level.
