    Tbh weezer taught me pop sensibilities, and thats ultinately what i sought for in anything thereafter but in a variety of sounds. Regardless what type of music it was, i loved it more it out had pop elements

    truthfully i don't know why i spend so much time typing s*** into this thread cause it costs me time i don't have and lets be honest, i know no one reads it {aside from ithaka- i really do appreciate it, but really, you don't have to. im completely fine typing paragraphs into the abyss}

    well, i sorta do know why because it kinda forces me to think about what i'm feeling, and it helps to understand the feeling by trying to transcribe it into words onto this random thread on a mainly hip hop forum

    but i digress

    ive enjoyed my time here because it has forced me to continually go back, remember s***, and then connect dots that i never saw.

    so what did i find today?

    well, my post i quoted was in response (or further expanding) as to why i moved away from listening to my chemical romance right as they are about to hit their (according to everyone in the world) peak. it made me think about the direction i was exploring at that time in the sense what music i was gravitating towards, and what music i was leaving. so at that particular point, i had just recently left my island of Weezer, and was finding more and more bands to explore. but as i thought about what music i was leaving my chemical romance for, i realized...i was never exactly truly leaving weezer in a sense which is why i posted what i posted.

    and right after i posted that, i remembered one of the bands i was SUPER into at the time was:
    Tera Melos

    so back before youtube was really youtube, there was a thing called Google Video, and i dont know HOW tf i came across this video, but i LOVED it. i would watch it like every other day. It was my first introduction to the band: Tera Melos

    (for those with sharp eyes, i JUST f***ing noticed lmfaooo)

    and to this day, this is one of my favorite performances thats been captured on video:

    i remember when this was originally posted, i was f***ing FLOORED how HQ it was LMAOOOOO

    anyway, so i'm remembering this song in my head, and then i realize. if you play the first minute, you can hear it. you can hear the weezerness. and then its like memories just flood in. I remember that Nick, the lead guitarist, said he was a big weezer fan. but WHERE? honest to god, he either told me in person (i was lucky enough to see them live a stupid amount of times, and most of the time, they were like one of the 3 or so opening bands. so they weren't hard to seek out and talk to), or they posted it on a myspace bulletin LMAOOO.

    so i finally get a chance to look it up, (and I can't find any article or quote early enough that would explain where i heard that he liked weezer. any mentions of weezer are from more recent times. and the oldest one is from 2010 {they covered blast off lmao} but i was done with the band around 2008 so it had to be sometime before then.)

    ANYWAY, lo and behold the first result is this video of Nick posted just a few months ago:

    it talks about how influential Undone riff was to him, and it's just really self-affirming for me on how important weezer was/is to my life.

    anyway, a connection i completely had forgotten about and did NOT think i would be thinking about this band at all today but im happy i did
