yeh but kanye gets anyone he wants
altho if spike a real one he wouldn’t turn down weezer bc of their history, sure he already started before working with weezer but buddy holly was what made him blew up iirc
iirc it was that and the Sabotage video that blew him up in 1994 after being a prominent skate videographer then spent the 90s doing videos closing the 90s with Being John Malkovich then officially starting his film career.
If he just did the Beastie Boys doc, the other group that blew him up, I'm sure he wouldn't be opposed of doing something with Weezer.

Some notes I wrote down
1. Mexican Fender - Not super unique... hmm... not sure if I'm crazy about this one. Doesn't feel like it takes any interesting risks.
2. Beach Boys - Remember really hating the chorus of this song when I first listened to the album. Listening to it now, I don't think it's that bad. Really like the bridge on this one.
3. Feels Like Summer - Removing the context of this song's release, this is a great pop song. Weezer gets unfairly bashed for creating pop songs that would be ranked highly in year-end lists if it was any other band.
4. Happy Hour - Hm... I feel like having this sequenced right after Feels Like Summer was a mistake. Sounds a little too sonically similar. I like the verse's production. Vaguely hawaiian. Something that's interesting about this album is the production. It's really poppy but none of the instruments sound generic. Really unique vibes.
5. Weekend Woman - Bridge through me for a loop on this one haha. It's so beach boys-esque. Really cool how it transitions back into the chorus.
6. QB Blitz - Remember hearing a lot of good things about this one when it came out. This one's definitely a winner to me. Love how chill this is. Feels like being on an island. Once again, that bridge hahah, didn't see it coming. very beautiful.
7. Sweet Mary - Very tightly written. Rivers's growth as a songwriter goes unappreciated. Can't imagine Blue Album Rivers being able to compose something like this.
8. Get Right - Had fun listening to this one. Little filler-y to me.
9. La Macha Screwjob - Title reflects it well. I like these oddball tracks that show up in the back half of weezer albums (jacked up comes to mind).
10. Any Friend of Diane's - Love the little "woo-oohs" in the background. Having it as the closer sums up the attitude of the album pretty well. This isn't trying to be some statement, just 35 minutes of fun pop.
Overall, I think I appreciate it more than I did the first and only time I did before. It's 10 very tightly written pop songs. And the melodies on this are undeniable. Goddamn is Rivers a god at that. I also can really make the connection between White Album and this more so now. I liked that comparison of EWBAITE, White, and PD with Blue, Pink, and Green. EWBA=pinkerton, White=Blue, and this is Green. Taking Blue's sound and bringing it to its poppiest conclusion.
With that being said.... I don't know if it scratches the itch that White, Blue, and Pink do for me. I like Weezer a little clunkier. It was a fun listen though, and a few of these will be stuck in my head for sure.
ok we back to serious music talk, s*** you’ll only find itt you hate to see it haters, keep creeping!
1 mexican is white left over and here to bring some weezer balance to the album imo, used to not dig the guitar attack thru the verses by the storytelling takes over and the instrumental leave room for that kinda like back to the shack - and it pays greatly off to set up the chorus and the amazing beach boys feel to it, the bridge is one of the best moment of the album and all in all you get in retrospective a song that really progresses through out despite starting off tame
2 love the bass game on beach boys, it’s interesting how ppl felt so strong when it first came out but now looking back they’re more cool with it - was it an album ahead of its time or were ppl too struck on the white album?
3 THANK U!!!! SONG IS A BOP just take it as it is altho ofc coming after white it was doomed but it’s a necessary evil and rivers took that risk, that’s why mexican fender exists now you get it
4 the most dancing weezer song ever and ill never have it any other way, a grower if you’re a weezer old school stan but immediate if you’re new to them, the harmonic tag at the end is real cars hours
5 weekend is godly rivers penned, bridge is so nintense even tho it sounds nothing like pinkerton it has that gut feeling only rivers writes you know? YOU KNOW that song comes from real story and real pain...
6 the verses on this always hits me hard...
did you notice the percussion and the bas when they come in on the first chorus and super pet sounds it is? go listen back to it you’ll see
7 nothing to add to this but thank you for noticing it unlike others who just listens to weezer with 90s glasses “if it doesn’t have crunchy guitars it’s a no”, godspeed brother you a real one
8 it’s someone fav itt, i can see where you coming from but to me coming after those two songs above it’s a welcome bop
9 tru dat- jacked up is a fav of mine and this one is so catchy it blows my mind it’s this late in the tracklist and not a main single some artists would kill for this, but being this late the song help pick up the pace again and what makes it for a such amazing album
10 the lyrics on this one deserves more praise, so beautiful and from the heart - again who else other than cuomo to do this today?
that’s a great summary and someone said itt it does feel like a trilogy with white and ewbaite so your comparison is interesting and i def see it, it does makes a lot of sense actually yeah - to me however for how much i will tell newcomers itt to go to white bc it’s that weezerish and instant - pd hits harder overall
love you brother thank you again
The solo on good life man I been sleeping
and the bridge, like a relief...
I'm listening to raditude too because I'm bored and I want to hear all the albums before ok human comes out
