hehhh nothing beats the blue album and pinkerton is a masterpiece but i would say it’s third spot, tied with white album it’s hard to separate them they’re both as good in terms of quality, super consistent s***

damn i think the blue album never fully clicked with me but again i have very bad memory so i gotta revisit s*** all the time cause i forget so quickly

i discovered weezer with the red album so iwas on my first impression of overt creative structures and songs and expensive production so when igot to the blue it felt too raw and punk upon my first listen but ofc i quickly got ahold upon other listens the context and the greatness hooks and songwritting

perfect album of bangers everywhere yet smart songwritting, infectious but intelligent

gonna need to revisit
my fav still the white album tbh and i liked EWBAITE

ewbaite in hindsight has one or two skips from me but it was a necessary album and is really good

how you feel about the black album

i was torn for a while bc way back during white album tour rivers promoted it as a contrast to white, lil uzi influenced, urban and cursing (which rivers never did) so as much as i loved how effective white was and showed it’s no work for rivers to write songs as good as he used to pull off during blue album days, i was ready to hear the opposite of that, something modern, rivers himself wasn’t a fan of doing the white album

but the teal album happened in between bc of the surprise hit of africa and i feel that compromised along the way the vision for black, therefore the final black album while it does presents some modern ideas he promised has lot of weird and plain rock songs, so it’s a bit all over the place and not sure where it’s trying to do, like insecure

i grew up to liking it as it is with letting things go in terms of expectations, but ngl my alt black album tracklist really lived up to what was promised for it, just something more pop and less complex

it’s alright, feels like it might be the last color album since white installed a concept and black seemed to fulfill that and now rivers seems to have found a way into albums with concept ideas, but at the same time it’s lackluster for the final color album so wouldn’t mind another one to make up for it

the highs are incredible tho

high as a kite is like among the best weezer songs no doubt, no one will disagree with that
