OK hurley was pretty cool, but I can't help but think it could've been better, there's a nice idea with the demo quality of some tracks, and some songs are really good, but at the same time you got some really bland and forgettable songs on here too, it's kind of inconsistent

Hurley is probably there most energetic album ever, and that’s why I love it

it’s uh hard to describe lol originally meant as an odds and ends compilation of stuff the band did and we never heard (which it is we didn’t know these songs) rivers was inspired by oasis masterplan where it’s a compilation of besides but it’s so great it kinda became an album of its own, it doesn’t help that it has a title based off of a song on it without mentioning it’s a compilation and also original cover art to it so rivers picked on that original title no mention of compilation and original artwork but difference here is rivers stitched it up in studio some songs and they did full new production to it rivers recorded some new vocals on some songs so is it a compilation heeehhhb songs we never heard retouched in studio it’s more like new album but hehhh i kinda forget it

one of the best things about the album was the rollout at the time was f***ed, so they were meant to release it for like 1 week exclusively at PacSun stores

anyway a bunch of fans started going to PacSun in the leadup to the release and trying to find out whether stock had arrived early at stores, which led to this iconic moment with a dude filming himself running out of a PacSun in a mall and you can hear this manager behind him with this really thick Southern accent like

"GET OUTTA MY STORE BOY, AND DON'T COME BACK"

been looking for that vid for years, but I can never find it
