would also like to get your thoughts on this, not sure if you’ll like it as much but it’s one of their most beach boys sounding produced song, the percussions and all the harmonies work, especially on the bridge where it really pushes it

both sweet mary and weekend woman are from the 2017 album pacific daydream which got lot of hate from the “purists” or “old heads” stans (the ones that sticks to blue and pinkerton)but it’s in my top 3, i was relief to find other fans of this album here on ktt, i think some of the older fans are growing on it but lot of them were upset they went for this pop production after dropping the white album

u a real one for thisit’s a such colorful rich palet album with wide variety of inspirations of old (they presented it as the beach boys meets the clash) and new with modern upbeat pop modern production, it’s fun light heartfelt sincere and with great personal lyrics, moving, i dont skip any songs on it period i love it as much as blue and pink or white
it has a song about the beach boys on it lol and it samples murry wilson! (that one don’t sound like the beach boys tho it’s one of those songs where it’s pop and references them but not imitate, the influences plays more obviously elsewhere over the album like sweet mary)
(fun fact the melody from the verses on weekend woman are saved from an abandoned song from the green album era sessions!)
also ill leave you with this if you don’t mind, it’s not from pacific daydream, but it’s a beautiful song very dear to me that means a lot, more mellow stuff but classic weezer yet creative, there’s some thing in my personal life i struggle with i briefly mentioned to you survivor guilt and when im going thru it i just put low lights play this song...means a lot to me
