i forgot about the hurley thing

SO rumor is that there was some sponsor going on with the brand hurley who would rent to the band the studio and cover the budget for the album - something along those lines?

weezer did do a photoshoot with hurley at that time to sell some clothing items too which brought some credit to the rumor

so ig what hurley asked in returns was for the brand name to be used or something? and so rivers thought about it and came with that photo he had with the actor who played hurley to hide it while still doing right by the deal

THATS A RUMOR im not stating factual events

karl the bands unofficial “5th member” (started with them as archivist and webmaster, photographer etc) has once made a comment when the rumor was taking traction to clarify it - not sure how much it did clarify the subject, i don’t recall what he said he did mention i believe they had a deal with hurley but that rivers came with the idea of the artwork from a genuine place either way and it wasn’t forced by contract or related to it, something to that effect...
