When was it recorded?
When was it recorded?
It was recorded in 1992 and I believe it’s also called the kitchen tape as well.

Ohh okay, I listened to kitchen tape that's why I was confused
gravity will bring you down is a personal favourite outtake of mine
I'm gonna rock my audible
Headphone grapes of wrath
Drift off to oblivion
YOU THINK I CARE?
I just don’t care
I’m barely there
Open ear and open mind
I can see without my eyes
Frodo jonesing for the ring
Soon I'll be there smiling
Smiling in my dreams 🍇

Damn I can't lie, Raditude as an album was ballsy af. It might not be their best or anything, but Rivers actually played the energetic party nerd really well LOL. Raditude was like the only era where Rivers really broke out of his shell and went insane before settling down, it honestly is super crazy that they were able to make the total opposite of Pinkerton in a span of a little over a decade.

I love that verse

I dont understand the like disgust fans have toward it, like when I heard everybody talking about it in here I thought it would be like speedin bullet 2 heaven bad (an album I actually love but I understand why people hate it) but it's honestly a good album just something super unexpected from weezer

Lyrically I can see what they are saying, but how are you going into an album named "Raditude" with good lyrics in mind? It seems like Weezer had never had that care-free party record, and they went all out with it. I honestly appreciate it so much because it's like an introvert getting so drunk he starts dancing around, it is that geekiness that Weezer has always been known for. Honestly, even though the reception isn't the same, it is literally the total opposite of Pinkerton and that is why the lyrics are so different. We'll never get another album like that from them again, and that is why I can appreciate it for what it was.

Great intake. Making me want to revisit.
ok im just aa little drunk atm but lemme just spill because why not
overall what has disappointed me w rivers is
1) lazy writing and
i dont know even know how to untangle it. there is a desire for relevancy. there is over the top on the nose irony which gets brushed off / justified as misunderstood intended sincerity. and then there's intended intimacy and relatability via needless name dropping. name dropping is the wrong term. it's more like...youth pastor speak
does that make sense? like when youth pastors speak with an intended purpose of reaching you and creating a false sense of understanding between the two parties, but they lack the self awareness to realize they actually are making the divide and space between them even bigger
as far as not needing good lyrics for partying siht, i think that's just an excuse. you can still have good lyrics, especially if youre a decent songwriter like rivers. but idk. i think he focuses so much on the melody, and everything else because musically it's almost always great. i feel like he just gives up, like "ok yeh it rhymes more or less, we're good"
tbh rivers lyricist woes is something ive seen from like make believe all throughout to even ok human. it's a travesty, low key, but i think i just listen to the songs often enough that i just get used to it and just accept it.

I can see this. I enjoy his melodies so much I find myself ignoring his lyrics but with his pen game he really could be more than some of his lazy writing though for sure.
