I expected some hard metal screamo, emo, loud, edgy bs (no offense but I'm not really into that)

The "weirdness" or should I rather say eccentricity of this album is great imo

i just think it’s important to stress its off putting and intensity when you know weezer for something like island in the sun or the africa cover
