insertcoolnamehereKenny got understandably upset that @Tha7osavage asked a joking question about "if he smashed Rico Nasty" especially because last week she was talking about sexual assault on her social media.
Beside that, it's ironic @op says we need to bring back the KTT creativity when the creativity sxn where a lot of people do post their creative ideas and stuff...get wildly ignored and discarded. And while it's dope that now artists get their stuff pinned for a limited time in music sxn, the traffic in those threads are still quick to die out. And not just that but threads that are meant to spark good discussion and ideas either die early or (for some very ed reasons @mods) get moved to political sxn or some bullshit.
It's a reason why lot of artists on here that do just post their stuff in the music sxn cause at least it gets traffic, but those threads tend to just die out quick. A thread about something controversial gets more page numbers than say a thread about an op's music video or subjects in general.
So most times, we just "move in silence/IRL" anyways because other than Brockhampton, you not really gonna build a HUGE fanbase off a forum and look how yall turned on them. That one thread about them breaking up was one of the most hateful threads I've ever seen on this site.
Otherwise, @YoungNastyShawty said it best, yall only really jump on artists when they get popular. If someone's rising or if somebody is the first to tell yall bout it, yall don't give them niggas any love. Topaz Jones barely got talked about on here and Kenny Mason is JUST now getting popularity hence now this site talks bout him at length. Hell, out of all threads I've made about my own s***, the one that's gotten the most pages (besides my artist thread) is the one where I was in a complex post lol.
kenny's right tbh, the best thing to do if you as an artist that also posts on here want to work on establishing yourself, is to "GTFO OF HERE" and actually make moves IRL.
To be fair popularity is usually a J curve. A few people are heavily invested in finding and promoting super underground artists but most of us wait for them to "come to us" rather than putting in the effort to find them. There's nothing wrong with that, there are different approaches to listening to music.
KTT primarily exists to talk about Drake and Kanye. That's why most posters are here. KTT came up as a fan site for one of the biggest artists in the world, it's baked into the culture here. You're not going to get them to support the creative section, but what we might be able to do is make this site more attractive for people who are interested in that sort of thing. Ultimately that's up to S and whoever else is running s*** here.
