    • ye at age 46 making a song that becomes a song topping the billboard and global charts with 0 radio play, highest charting song since 2011
    • it also connects with the young generation at the same time, any artist his age making music connecting with the youth?
    • song becomes succesful despite insanely schizo lyrics recorded at a hotel suite surrounded by natalie nunn and yesjulz

"Pain all in my eyes, I can't see, uh
I'm 'bout to jump out my body, I'm ready to leap, uh
I'm 'bout to nut on her body and tell the ho leave
Fifty mil' stuffed in the bag, tell the whole gang eat, uh
It's Ye and Barti, tell me who f***in' with we?
I'm hot like Tha Carter, I'm feelin' that ho in my sleep"

yeah its crazy that the song fought through to be this successful despite so many factors

also wild to think this song is a bigger chart/streaming success than:

mercy + ultralight beam + fsmh + ghost town + off the grid + more

also seeing burn be another breakout hit from the album is wild, because its getting zero push. kinda speaks to the fact that music is democratized rn. this really begins and ends with what people like.

Crazy how Kanye doesn’t even have to do anything more impressive music wise. He already cemented himself as the greatest artist of all time and yet he just keeps pulling out the punches

    Insanely h****post

It’s also wild to see its success considering:

    • he’s done his best to burn every bridge possible in terms of industry connections and support over the past few years, so radio isn’t touching it with a ten-foot pole
    • his verse contains references to drinking piss, a*** fisting, and being R. Kelly, Diddy, and Bill Cosby levels of “cancelled”
    • Carti is absolutely phoning his verse in relative to the rest of his current run and Ty is straight up ripping the Racks on Racks flow from 2011 for some reason (to be fair both work extremely well)
    • the song itself is more abrasive and chaotic compositionally than anything he’s pushed as a single since probably Famous

And of course the fact that he himself is deeply unlikeable in the present moment to most of the country for one reason or another, and yet even haters like me have to admit the song f***ing slaps.

    carti went barnacles bro

It was my most hated track off the album after the initial reveal at the miami listening party, and it's definitely gotten a lot better since release but it's still just an okay track to me. I don't like rich the kid's delivery, kanye's verse sucks (only thing going for it is the chaotic energy), and carti should've been a bit more "aggressive" considering the beat. The fact it's doing this well is quite impressive honestly.

Kanye's already solidified due to 04-16. He's allowed to "fall off."

Wayne's one of my fave rappers but the Fix was one of the worst rap albums I heard this decade. I still have hope for C6 though.

Fix is not an abum nor was it that bad.

didn't say it's old, it's just an age usually where your music starts to specifically cater to a certain closed off demographic.
