you ate that marimo? 🌿⛰️
naw also ngl the pastry there was kinda mid
queen ahman was wet/soggy underbaked and used too much sugar for the caramelized shell too sweet
salt bread was good but nothing special i’m sure there’s a much much better version of this somewhere else in korea

yakgwas good
and be bep baby kitchen pork belly banhmi using einkorn bread from acq
this was fire except for the bread--i feel like banh mi bread should b soft n fluffy inside and like really light and crispy outside
this was crispy tough and then sorta whole grainy inside i guess
so tough 2 chew at parts
vegas

gordon ramsay

v ok
the welsh rarebit-ified fr onion soup was good, wellies had soggy bottoms and were lukewarm
toffee pudds were fire tho
lotus of siam garlic fried gulf shrimp

mi barrio
chilaquiles -- i got divorciados w birria on top, sooo good
we also split a arroz con leche pancake, v good

one of the better concha ive had-- still really warm
mother wolf

we went here twice it was so good
we tried over the two visits:
sfincione (focaccia), la mortazza (pizza bread folded over w mortadella and ricotta inside), polpette di coda, ruchetta salad, marinara pizza con burrata, linguine al limone, rigatoncini alla vaccinara (short rib ragu), pappardelle al ragu (white ragu), budino (sticky toffee pudd), and tiramisu
didnt get good pics of the pastas, but the linguine al limone is the best rendition of it ive had
(*) are the things i rly liked. everything else was yummy but not super special imo. i will say the mortazza is skippable if u already getting a pizza

its so hard i feel like korea has alot of desserts and bevvies that look way better than they are but when it hits it hits
i was craving the chilaquiles n cafe de olla from mi barrio 2day so i ordered chilaquiles rojas and a cafe de olla from animo
it was decent but didnt hit hit :')
i wish their chilaquiles actually had meat on it for the price tag
also their cafe de olla was a little sour... i think 2 much orange peel
its so hard i feel like korea has alot of desserts and bevvies that look way better than they are but when it hits it hits
tbh koreans are very vain so kinda makes sense most of these spots put all their effort into appearance more than taste.
r u gonna get the pan
eventually for sure, rn just experimenting cus i usually like to improvise a little with the recipe to save money
i did a trial run and it came out pretty good but i know this is just the surface of the potential
