cookie was fine you can’t even really taste the tallow that much just made it a tiny bit savory tbh you can smell the tallow more than you can taste it imo

just tastes like a really good cookie made w quality ingredients and i guess it’s worth trying if you’re into s*** like this but i don’t think it’s worth the 2x price tag and i prolly won’t ever go out of my way to get one.

only ppl i can see saying this is the best cookie are the typa ppl who think the most expensive item on the menu is always the best item

maple praline pancake w brown butter


i heard a lot of mixed reviews abt them so had never gone in person, but the maple pancakes looked rly yummy

my issue was that i...
dont like maple syrup so the maple praline was a little gross 2 me
but i thought the pancake had a rly nice texture and a more open crumb than id expected
i think a lot more bouncy than the giant pancakes at ginza west

which are really cakey and dense
i actually rly liked the textrue, it had a rly lovely chewyness at the edges
i thnk w different toppings the pancakes wld b fire

also got their maple cheddar bisky
its a good sandwich bisky but it rly flops as a standalone
rly tender crumb, but not cheddary or mapley. a little too soft id say for anything besides sando
i made eggs and bacon and stuff for it

tokuya matcha and onigirazu bar
the onigirazu is just ok, 989 has a lot more effort put in. matcha was nice tho, not as good as cha ans but no ones is

chicken milanese w tonnato--not enough tonnato, chicken was dry and lukewarm, needed a bit of acidity it didnt have
tuna crudo w fennel pollen + anchovy caprese
tuna crudo was like 20 bucks lol and it was so little tuna. needed toast points or something. 2 fennel polleny, it was almost grainy. flavorwise didnt rly hit for me at all
tomato salad needed more idk sauciness or something, like when u make caprese using heirloom tomatoes theres a lot of tomato juice that comes out that dresses it. this had none of that so felt kinda dry and weird. not enough anchovy or basil either, we were rationing that s***
cardamom cake from noreen wasti was very pleasant tho, i liked the whipped cream on top, it was just lightly sweetened and was a nice ending

paella w chicken and veg - very mid. i think flavorwise wasnt hitting crazy for me

churro -- i liked it, i liked they had ice cream at the bottom of the chocolate sauce i enjoyed

nothing crazy, wish we skipped the calamri and got something besides the paella, but i dont think this is the best spanish in ny

then picked up a laminated baguette from alf bakery




Basucally u wrap croissant dough around baguette dough and bake it
Arcade bakery (which the owner/baker used to work at) originated it i believe (but closed yrs and yrs ago, i went once but dont rmmber it rly tbh)
