ive been doing mixing and production for years i used to have a job at a studio for keyboard playing n co-production n used to sell loop kits and beats online - i still do curated production n mainly mixing/mastering for clients, i had to leave my studio job during covid because im an at risk chronic health person

ive been wanting to do my own project forever, i was gonna do an artsy instrumental album that i made during covid that was gonna be released in early 2022 but my old home laptop got destroyed and i lost most of the files besides 4 of the 12 beats (i might still release them on youtube someday or add to it for a lil ep release early next year to have sumn after TFIF) - so after my ish got destroyed one of my music homies gave me a desktop from their studio for home and thats when i started this project in middle of 2023. i made most of the beats at home then recorded most of the vocals in two studio in CA and AZ and some of them at home.

the only other project i ever done myself i did a beat tape while in high school junior year, i been producing since i was 14 mainly rap/rnb (i also did a few rap songs too lmao)

now i do mostly electronic for myself n other, some rnb for others with the occasional rap related stuff for other - but i mostly left rap due to all the bullshit that goes on in the space and i kinda fell out of love for it, n connecting with the electronic/dance community (that i always loved, stuff like james blake, jai paul, kaytranada etc.) has been so great and reinvigorating everything n im so happy to be apart of the space now - and this project is helping me connect with other artists and business people in the electronic/dance scene.

this project TFIF as i said in OP, EVERYTHING is done by me, lyrics/production/mixing+mastering/artwork etc. (with no samples nor pre-made loops) to prove and showoff to myself n others while also using it as art therapy - but the next full project is gonna have at least features and perhaps some co-production and plan to be bigger especially now with this project not only is opening doors, i also have a set up and template created that was figured out during its creation

You Used To was the very first song made for the project, No More Traffic the 2nd - and after those two were made that's when i decided to go full force into making the album!

Then the very last two songs finished for the project was To Your Neighbor and You Get Old, respectively

Ty i appreciate it, im a small dog more like a sperm-cell rn tryna eat the big dogs and i went into the album making it as professional and of quality as I could and I had a lot of time thinking n been around a lot of other ppls releases

this is all going in my portfolio - not only am i tryna be my own artist now, but im also tryna get hired at a studio again, preferrably a mjor/deep in it studio or label that i can be hired as a mixer/mastering engineer and /or producer for a big studio or signed as a producer and/or artist for a good label major or "indie" - i know this project isnt gonna make a dent at all since its my first and im a nobody on this front rn but im treating it as if i was already somebody - its my showcase project and why i did everything 100% myself from the art to the production to the songs and mixing/mastering

I'm DEF gonna get that distribution deal at some point tho, i been shoppin n talkin even before i dropped since like the 2nd single with Feel What's Real (which is usually seen as my most impressive n most "real song" with buisness ppl n other fellow musicians)

It’s funny because just knowing your tastes based on your post history the direction this goes is actually a little bit of a system shock in the best way possible.
