Kanye stans and their obsession with a mid album TLOP is truly fascinating. They just don’t give up
Album mid to GP but its fan loved.
I’d argue GOOD Music was successful for a very short burst of time, at least culturally, from like 2012 to 2016
Good music is light years ahead of dreamville idk why they even implying that label is really that amazing it’s basically just Ovo sound south but they got JID so I guess that means something
Jay/Kanye/Wayne/TIP, read it again
Travi$ Scott is TI artist whether we like it or not. without TI, he never meets Ye
yes, Kanye/Jay/Wayne/TIP was the big 4 I was referring to
Big 4? When, 2008?
Depends what you mean by "hotter culturally"
are we speaking like influence, hit records or just frequency in the news?
Kanye probably got it though.
Drake is 38 now. Everything outside if music goes to kanye at 38. music is debatable.

Dreamville got the Festival which has probably been the biggest rapper-ran festival in music
But yeah other than that I don’t see how someone can argue that Dreamville is more or less successful than OVO, they’re pretty similar
JID is a good artist but he’s not really commercially successful whatsoever
Big 4? When, 2008?
right about the time he pivoted and started focusing on grand hustle, yes. the year TI did 568k, yes lmao. he’s ranked with them idk why we doing this

You said TI’s artists are doing stadiums (I’m assuming you’re referring to Travis), but also said Cole successfully ran a rap label but none of his artists even do arenas. What is the barometer you’re using for success?
bruh really about to talk down TI music
ight
Ye ran to Atlanta too. nigga TIP was doing movies
In terms of HipHop yes
TLOP was massively loved and the things he was doing outside of music at the time was very hyped
But to be fair - he did have his low period culturally tho with Yeezus which some on this site likes to pretend didn't happen
You’re not wrong and that’s part of why I Love Kanye exists. Yeezus was great but way more divisive than people are admitting I think.
The title is literally Yeezy + Jesus

First time arguing with Valentine?

I can agree with that.

ohhh. But i dont think any rapper after them has a successful rap label. They all are trying but they started too late imo.
running a successful label as a rapper used to be seen as important in the 2000s up until the early 2010s. that s*** don’t matter no more
i think it still does to them, that’s the line they were raised on and is the goal. let’s not change the recipes cause new nigfas started rapping lmao

i mean Tyler had OF, Joey had pro era all them niggas was just too young in a new internet, Griselda a thing, west coast rappers got hella rap labels that’s big, CMG
idk why we acting like rap labels and joining them still ain’t a thing we just in a down time rn
Yeezus polarizing in a good way. Some loved it and some hated it but the people who loved it weren't just stans and some of the people who hated it were fans who came around eventually

Still one of his worst projects
Yes we are. F*** TI
TI actually took a corporation to court and won $72M
Ye and Drake don’t know bout that
nigga mad at the king, sad rap fans
bruh really about to talk down TI music
ight

2006 ti is still one of the greatest individual years a rapper could have ever

What are you considering “successful” though? None of these labels were substantially more commercially successful than something like OVO or GOOD Music, and Dreamville is on the same level as all of them

My issues with TI has nothing to do with either of those artists

Chyeahhh

Outside of CMG which still gets an asterik cause it seems more predatory then anything. none of those are very successful tbh.
