You’re such a schizo
I check Billboard certifications for songs and see s*** that was on the radio 24/7 in 2005 going Gold in 2023. Music numbers are faker than ever. They measure tours in dollars and don't account for inflation.
Taylor is the biggest now. Just enjoy that I guess
No
https://twitter.com/variety/status/1754978896557068522that only proves that Taylor is more marketable and able to keep good relationships
has nothing to do with how big the Music was
I think Britney's run was bigger than most of Taylor's miscellaneous album eras music wise
her only time to compete with Britney would be Red, 1989, and maybe her speak now album
but overall I think they're slightly comparable
It's hard to quantify based on how popularity is viewed from back then to now.
I guess in terms of commerciality since Taylor's so massive no, but in terms of stardom and obsessiveness on a general level and not just superfans... Britney was arguably bigger you could say
mf linking 1 like tweets
Depends on how you look at it. Britney had the biggest artist of all time co-signing her. I think Taylor is larger though fan base wise

No
And i seen both non singing b****es in their prime (taylor aight tho) and taylor is a miles ahead of brittney
comparing britney and taylor singing wise is insane even if they both some ""singer"" singers
These questions are always hard to answer because of streaming
I’d imagine Britney would’ve done absolutely INSANE streaming numbers in her prime
No

Im ready to get banned

Fearless was bigger than Red and Speak Now
Just checked and TRL would do 750k-880k viewers a day. That's four days a week. A music video would play on there for months.
120,000,000 views a month. Minimum. Per video release. Just from TRL.
10 different artists were doing that at once. All the time.
Globally, yes.
In the U.S., Taylor's hot streak lasted longer.
Britney's debut sold over 25 million hard copies worldwide.
she was massive but no, in this era Taylor surpassed her popularity. more commercial success with sales and record breaking tour + longevity
there's no metric other than feeling that you can say Britney's peak popularity was bigger
As a celebrity and household name, Britney felt bigger. She was even the most Googled person in the world during her hiatus in 04-06.
Also, her meltdown in 07 broke the entire Internet and had people talking about her. "Leave Britney alone!" was lowkey one of the 1st viral memes on the Internet.
Also, Britney had some of her best chart success in her 2nd peak in 07-11.
Taylor is interesting in the sense that she's objectively one of the biggest artists of all time but her image is so basic that she doesn't seem to be that huge of a household name to many different demographics in the same vein Britney was.
Hell, I think Beyonce and Lady Gaga are more well known as icons than Taylor Swift even today.

i think you might be underestimating Taylor's reach in some places, especially in asian countries. this is one of the hardest things to compare but i think its safe to say they are both full fledged global superstars
i think you could definitely say that Taylor's numbers in that CD era would be similar, even without taking into account the cash grab rerecordings. especially taking into account earlier country era, if you dropped Taylor into that era 10 years before she would probably be on some Shania Twain type s***
I think Taylor only passed Beyonce recently but i dont know how you could try to argue that Gaga is more well known than Taylor at this point. what households dont know who Taylor is at this point? clearly one of the most famous people in pop culture
