besides bourdaine obviously, i think you could make an argument that action has pushed that sub genre of traveling and eating with your friends the furthest
definitely inspired a bunch of other clones
It’s def by far the best one outside of bourdaine (which was on another level)
Also this though
I can see what @OP means in that Action Bronson is strangely like a rapper personification of KITH/Aime Leon Dore, indebted to 90’s hip hop sounds but aesthetically is a late 2000’s/early 2010’s looking white hipster. He hits all of the things that naturally are kinda popular today and has the complexion and taste/humor to have a lifelong certain type of fan
But i think he’d kinda be stuck in a niche because things like f*** that’s delicious could have only happened in that first half of the 2010’s
BINGO
In tone, flow, and influence. From content and beat selection they couldn’t be anymore different. I get that. My overall point is on a surface level, she was just GFK 2.0 which wasn’t pushing the envelope further or ahead of anything. None of the blog era rappers outside of the cool kids and maybe lil b as far as him being a blueprint were really ahead of their time and that’s fine they didn’t need to be.
I’m so sick of hearing about “who’s pushing the envelope”
People ignoring good rappers, Good songs and good albums because it’s not “forward thinking” enough
But when some dude comes along, puts zero effort into their songs and just makes funny noises it’s so revolutionary because nobody ever did this before!
I’m so tired of hearing about who’s “influential” because 99% of the time it’s someone who just found a way to be even more lazy and even easier to copy

Being competent and skilled at something>>> than being different for the sake of being different. If youre good enough at something, your own voice and personality will shine through anyway. Nothing wrong with experimenting and stuff but 95% of it is the basics

Not sure what you are angry for man. There is absolutely nothing wrong with someone not pushing the envelope thats not what im saying lol. The topic is was Action ahead of his time. He wasn't. But he made/makes good music. there is nothing wrong with that lol
Bro was cosplaying as Ghostface Killah how was he ahead of his time
up: For the record I think Action can rap and is funny I was bullshittin a lil
For the record I think Action can rap and is funny I was jus bullshittin a lil
Why would action Bronson be more marketable now than when he came out ? Is there a comparable artist today ? I don’t underhand this at all. He came out at the perfect time for success imo.
riff shouldve been bigger tho he was a legitimately good rapper and was able to get in rooms with the right people he just shot himself in the foot
He literally achieved his main goal
What do you mean lol
Action Bronson was popular and fine until the Ghost beef happened
Feel like he was a decade too early
If he was just coming out now he would be one of the biggest rappers on earth.
The skills, the look, the personality. Shoot him and Riff Raff should be way bigger than they are.
Not Necessarily.
He’s a Ghostface Killah clone.
He makes cool music with a different aesthetic and upbringing than the original GFK but he came in during the right (Blog) era of we being honest.
He still has a fanbase and cult following with the younger generation, but why settle for the clone when the original is still making good music?
Wow this guy’s voice sounds like this other guy’s voice i will discredit his work on account of that
GFK and Bronson are two very distinct vibes and I’m either in the mood for one or the other. Never understood this criticism

Completely agree. Perfecting timing.
Kinda interesting i was listening to Tim Dillon and he mentioned he was approached for a show similar like action Bronson’s/Anthony bourdaines but he turned it down. I always wondered like why lol is there something disingenuous about it. Not with bourdaine tho because he kinda invented that whole route.
imagine turning down a job that pays you to travel and eat food w your friends
What do you mean lol

ppl always say this but bronsons overall career has only gone up since that incident tbh
ngl anyone who still thinks bronson is a gfk clone doesn’t listen to either artist enough to have an opinion on this
it’s like dudes who still say larry june is a dom k clone in 2024
and im one of the biggest dom stans on this site
ppl always say this but bronsons overall career has only gone up since that incident tbh
Im talking music wise
But yeah hes been great on tv and glad hes getting great work still
His shows and guest appearances are always fire
@op He's surpassed most the other blog era artists, beat the gfk clone allegations as many have pointed out itt, perfected his sound, transcended even the 90's boom bap style and has a crazy ear for beats now
He's having an amazing career even outside of music that seems to have only gotten better since he first came out
Crazy talented rapper/performer/chef/painter/tv personality/NYC legend
F*** That's Delicious is highkey one of the best shows of all time, he's making great collabs with New Balance, food collabs with famous chefs, ESPN and UFC contributor, New York Times best selling cookbook, courtside at the Knick games, playable character in UFC 4, was in the Irishman with De Niro and Scorsese like come on now
I don't think he ever set out to be one of the GOATs or a hitmaker just have a fun ass life as his job and he accomplished that
Seeing him in NYC in like 2 weeks can't wait

It is funny how Bronson and Travis are two rappers who have arguably fallen off to some degree in the general public eye but are currently having the sneaker game in a chokehold
riff shouldve been bigger tho he was a legitimately good rapper and was able to get in rooms with the right people he just shot himself in the foot
in my top 5 not kidding.
