I’m not gonna say i fall on either side but what i will say is anyone who is an actual frank fan knows he not a wholesome person and definitely just as much an a****** as the next person. Not a bad person but people on social media treat him like an angel

yea that s*** goin up like a rocket, like 7 years ago s*** was 10 mill, then i remember rowan atkinsons' wrecked one sold for over that i believe and it had like 40k miles on it or some glad he drove the s*** out it tho, only one with more miles is the test model that was owned by the mclaren team for a while dunno if they still do, but it had like 100k+ miles.

one day we gonna be able to drive that bih tho inshallah

Yea man, this car is so valuable that a wrecked version of it just raises the price,it’s not a flaw,it’s unique cause so few people have this car. I’ve heard that this car always need to be worked on cause of its race car nature tho. Even if your not driving it,it still has to be worked on.

I honestly think the factory just wants to make sure all these cars stay in top shape imo. I doubt they need the frequent maintenance that the factory is suggesting all the time.

yea def think so too, they prob a lil too tight with it depending on the terms of how it works but can see why, they dont want any of them to fall in disrepair or neglect etc over time. so thats good imo, they should 1000% be preserved for the future (while bein enjoyed an all).

hopefully they never have it goin like ferrari's fxx program where u can buy the racecar basically and you're allowed to store it in ur house or whatever as art but you have to sign contract saying you wont drive it on the road, can only drive it at a track with a full ferrari team to set everything up and do maintenance. i heard from ppl it costs like $25k/day when u do drive it s*** crazy

Well, they can’t create a program for it now cause they stopped producing the car in the late 90s. Everything being sold is out in the wild. The F1 is just a fascinating car through and through, you know they do diagnostic test with a very specific old Compaq computer right lol? Their researching a way to perform these test without those computers tho cause their afraid they won’t be able to find any more of them soon.

    Just s*** like that

  • Aug 8, 2021

The stuff he’s making with his team looks cool to me

It hurts to admit it but you guys are right

This 30 page thread can be condensed to the conversation me and safe had in the other thread

Mostly, the sentiment shared with fans that are dissappointed is that he didn’t return in the way that they wanted with the product that they wanted and a product that most of his 20-something year old fans cant engage with cause of the price barrier.

Frank ocean said he came into the music business for money and to lift himself out of poverty, so when I read that in that interview he did 2 years ago and saw this brand launch I wasn’t really surprised. Dude likes making money and has liked doing so all his career. Now to reduce his whole s*** to just him chasing a bag is pretty unfair because all through his career he has talked passionately about music, fashion and other art he enjoys. Because if his whole s*** was just making money and not the art then his music career would’ve plummeted 10 years ago.

As for the merchandise s*** that was a complete f*** up on the blonded team and them not being transparent definitely did more harm than good in hindsight, to the point where those people who he still owes s*** to are apprehensive even buying something with his name tethered to it, which I totally get and don’t blame them for. However, Op suggesting that literally every cent he invested into this new venture came from a string of a few thousand orders of vinyl and t shirts last year is like what cause this is something hes been working on since feb 2018, right before the endless and BDC mag reissue merch drops which didn’t share any of the problems he has with this latest one.

I mean if Frank wants to come back and start a luxury brand he can. If Frank retired right now and became an author who writes the most obscene fiction novels or becomes a homoerotic photographer or a carpenter or some s*** I feel like he can and can do so without feeling like he owes his music fans something in the process.

This thread is not primarily directed towards the jewelry itself it’s because of the lack of communication and professionalism in the past year or two only for this big rollout he expects us to buy into cuz of “Frank Ocean” even though it’s not even meant for us

Who said he expects us to buy into it though? The article is in the financial times and the pricing shows it’s clearly not made for us

Once again I could not care less the direction he heads in. I understand the artist he’s in and all that. It’s the obvious reaction he wanted his fan base to elicit for this rollout knowing they’re excluded from it, combined with all the bullshit he knew he was responsible for

How he rolls out and what he rolls out and who he rolls out for is not inherently a problem

It’s the conditions combined with what happened last year
