This is an interesting topic because you can argue it also decreased the value for musicians as well. Because distributing is much easier the amount of trash is higher as well. Which plays a part as well

It has. Working on albums until the literal final minute and bloated tracklists and unfocused albums for the chance of being placed on as many playlists as possible… all the direct result of streaming

$20 merch is honestly not being talked about enough

    That alone is monumental

We get $20 everything but as soon as it’s music, which is what we all want the most it’s all of a sudden too much? Make it make sense

That’s why mixtapes were brilliant too

Yes exactly. Now all it takes is to have a viral moment and you are dope

Kids put together group buys for thousands of dollars for leaks, but putting together $20 for a finished product is too much?

He’s also funding all of these LP’s and using his own money to produce the merch, it’s expensive to be independent

    you dont say bro.

95% of all the ktt2 artists on here are indie bruh.

only difference is ye is 110% making his money back no matter what he do cause he's ye. insert artist name here doesn't have that same luxury.

and like I said earlier, ye indie versus bandcamp/regular indie is still a huge difference.

I'm reacting the same way as I did when he was "going into debt"a few years ago.

Indeed! Also the fact that an artist is able to “fix” something after release has a cool aspect but can also make the creative/quality control aspect sloppy. Imagine Quincy Jones saying something like ‘Ima fix Billie Jean’

Ye is also better than them all

Being independent doesn’t give you automatic respect you also have to be undeniable
