Maybe but even Virginia Beach feels lifeless these days, like he did that 100 times better on CLB and CLB was already a hit or miss. Drake is one of my most listened artist ever right next to Kanye and it's just my opinion but he's washed these days unfortunately.

He never really grew as an artist since 2016 and it started to get obvious in 2021 when his lyrics got worse and worse

I think he lost the sauce between 2021 and 2024 and people already started to get tired with FATD and the beef made it 100 times worse

40 doesn't get enough flowers. also a great point I've seen lobbied against Drake is if he's so proud of Toronto, why doesn't the 6 have a defined sound? West coast, East coast, Houston, Atlanta, even London all have carved out a space in hip hop. But why does Toronto have the biggest rapper-producer duo in the history of hip hop, and no one knows what the Toronto rap sounds like. Drake's a s*** head opportunist, that has never put his city on. He'd pretend he was from the Bronx if it benefited him.

like would it be impossible at this point in his career to deliver an album with 10 songs like my soul? where ye is making some conscious raps that arent earth shattering discoveries or anything, but it is nice lyrical content, or is this just gone for?

Toronto really doesn’t have a rap sound. They have an R&B sound for sure, but definitely not a rap one
